FWIW...Tyler Baron to Jets

Not your fault :D I'm just burnt out of people who leave the Vols. I'm happy for the outcome. Just don't like the way it happened.
I said it when he left, I think he may regret the decision later in life being a hometown kid. He gave up his VFL status and won't be welcome back after burning that bridge. Wish him the best in the NFL.

I think he graduated. He did his time for us when we were bad and probably could left and made more. Stay classy vols
Good post. Thanks for the reminder. I find myself getting upset as well, then remember we welcome them here when they leave their previous school. Big Nic and his family will always be the exception imo. They did it the wrong way.

Louisville I think.
Actually he first committed to Ole Miss then flipped to Louisville after Ole Miss signed a couple other transfers on the DL. There were also rumors of an NIL dispute with Ole Miss. Then he and Wesley Walker supposedly caused locker room problems at Louisville by bragging about NIL to the other players so the Louisville coach told him to hit the road and he then went to Miami. I think Walker went to Michigan. Not the first to cause locker room problems because of NIL and definitely not the last.

Isn’t he the one who threatened to leave every year until he finally did?
There was a bit more to it behind the scenes but yeah you got the most of it right. His father was a support staff member that came in under Jones. Barron I think was very underrated for us and did a lot on the field really well including making Pearce even more effective on the opposite side. We did have some issues hanging on to him every year though. He was almost out the door one year to Kentucky before he was talked down from it. Finally left then did a couple of stops in an offseason before landing at Miami. Sometimes kids and those advising them have a different view of what’s best for them. I will say I don’t think Barron ever mailed in a play or took a play off, if he was on the field he was going to give his all. I think he left for “greener” pa$tures and I’m not sure it ended up being a good thing for him. Can’t really crap on the kid though bc I never heard of him being a bad teammate or being lazy on or off the field

I think it turned out fine for him. He has a pretty hard ceiling as a prospect because he isn’t very athletic for a DE these days and has always struggled to finish and bring the QB down. Good college player who will get a shot in the NFL, but I don’t think coming back here would have made much, if any, difference where he was drafted
