Where will the Vols land in the ranks SEC ranks as of now if the rumors are true that Arkansas plans on going after Gary Patterson and Kentucky after Phillip Fulmer, David Cutcliffe, or Sonny Dykes?

About the same place we are now. Hopefully, that will be 4th in the east, unless we lose again

Vols aren't going anywhere but up. Addition by subtraction then addition is the plan. That hasn't changed. Don't let any lack of recent change confuse you. Hart is against in season change and that has played out. It doesn't in any way hint that he has some intention of keeping Dooley around or back off of hiring Gruden.

Phillip Would be a good hire at Kentucky, Say what you will he has had time and seen enough to know where he failed as a coach. His name alone (some may not think so ) will help Kentucky's recruiting. I would hate to have played a well coached and motivated Fullmer team in his prime. If he could get a few more of those games it would be tuff on Tennessee. .... Nope I'm sober. Players Loved Him. He is a players Coach!

Who knows what the divisions will even look like in another year (or 2). I absolutely expect the SEC to grow to 16 teams. It could be 4 divisions, it could be 1. It is all a guess. Therefore, guessing what the competitive landscape will be is an even bigger gaze into the crystal ball.

This is my point....Texas, Arkansas, Auburn, and Kentucky are going to go after proven winners to make their programs better.

Tennessee is going to keep a proven loser to hope someday he figures it all out and we stay yet 10 steps behind the rest of the S.E.C. Terrible how bad this fan base's level of expectations have fallen. Fans on here would rather let someone that is ZERO for his entire career as our head coach than go after someone that has been there and proven they can get it done.

Ain't it funny.....teams like Arizona can beat USC...Washington can beat Oregon St.....UCLA can beat Nebraska...upsets happen all the time yet a Dooley coached team can't pull one off ever

If thing continue the way that they have been going TN will be sitting perrenially in the middle of the east at best. Vandy, UK, and Mizz below and USCe, GA, and Fla at the top.

Petrino will be a "cheap" hire, probably the best bang for the buck of the coaches out there if you can swallow his baggage. Kensucky can swallow his baggage (as can Auburn-but his connections in Louisville make him more likely a wildcat, not a tiger).

I live in AR (condolences please)......booger eaters thought they would get someone big (Gruden, Patterson, Strong); probably none of the above. Malzann from ASU? Franklin from Vandy? Douche bag from UL-Monroe? LaTech loser? (we know this tact) They are having to dumb down their coaching expectations. HaHa!!!

Personally, for UT, I like Franklin...if you can win/recruit at Vandy, you can any where. He has great enthusiasm, players like him. Don't think UT will go for another up-n-comer though. Probably will go for established coach. We will be in line behind Texas & Auburn. IMO, Gruden will not coach in college. IF he coaches, it will be in the NFL. Could be wrong.

Vandy has a top 20 recruiting class with Franklin , he's not leaving, UK could handle the baggage with petrino, the took cal! Gruden goes to the browns. Ut is stuck with Dooley , or ..... A HC

Regarding Franklin, he reminds me a little bit of Bruce Pearl. Bruce did a lot for our hoops team.

Ky doesn't meet Fulmers criteria....i.e. I must be able to walk in and win..

So....Fulmer can only coach at Carson Newman or Bama....that makes perfect sense!
Unfortunately both have better coaches and no openings. I will say Arky should of jumped all over him after the crash...

Would have been a better interim than what they got. Fulmer ain't gonna have anybody but Vicky on the back of his Harley!....except maybe Robert Peace.....
