Women couldn't crack a joke before 2002.

That's what I was thinking when I made this thread.

Why are there not as many known funny women?

In all reality... I think my wife is the funniest female ever.

Keeps me rollin' all day, everyday.

I'll be 30 in October.

Why ask?

I was going to attribute your nominations to youth. Tina Fey is funny and probably a better writer but she couldn't hold Gilda Radner's bra strap on straight comedic acting.

I can think of female comedic actors I like but struggle to come up with even one female stand up I think is funny.

Gilda is hilarious. But to say Tina, "couldn't hold a bra strap" is a stretch.

2 different eras, 2 different styles of comedy.

What exactly is Lisa known for? I've only seen her on celebrity roasts and all they talk about is her making sexy time with black dudes.

NB4 rasis.

Are we talking standup, movies, sketch? I've always liked Tina and her overall body of work (writing, acting, producing) boosts her stats but oon straight delivery I think she's a step below the top comics of all time.

Agreeable.

But that's because being a "step below top comics" and "holding a bra strap" are different tunes you're singing.

Are we speaking stand-up here? Joan Rivers deserves a mention when it comes to mic work.

Kidding about Paula. I've never really liked female comedianns, but Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett are still 2 of the best. The creativity and physical humor was excellent.
