Dabo is a much better coach than Butch so that sums it up.

Am I missing anybody? Yea here's the major difference. Clemson keeps there guys but butchy with his thin skin and over promises has guys bolting for the door almost immediately when they get to Knox.

That list is a bit misleading. Peterman and Dobbs were the same age, as well as Ferguson. So how would either one of them being here made us better

Not all but many places where you can find SOS......or rather those who compile the SOS's are those that do statistical rankings not recruiting evaluations. These people compile all kinds of offense and defensive stats and then complete a ranking chart from those stats.

Those who do the recruiting rankings have to evaluate players and are not doing the same type of analytics. Sure ESPN has some of each but they are a big company and are not using the same people for both recruiting rankings and make a SOS ranking as it takes much different skills.

I also recall a time in 2010 when Dabo's job was in serious jeopardy. But he was only in his second or third year then and the program showed much improvement, which is asymmetrical to our situation.

Confirmed. Butch is less with more guy. For next coach we dont even need a more with less guy. We could just have a same with same and be content with 9 win average.

I think you could argue that Dabo and Butch are similar in a lot of ways. Both are full of corny sayings and have a knack for recruiting.

Two big differences, though. First, Dabo is willing to adapt his system to fit his players. Second, Dabo is willing to find talented coordinators (who are probably better X and O coaches) and then turn over the D and O to them with very little interference.
