Northwestern passed for 129 yds against our defense. We had a total of 120 yds of interception returns. Their qbs almost passed for more yards to our guys than their own.

Our defense was outstanding the whole game. Showed 100% effort the whole game and didn't back down even when we were up by 40. The backups that came in late played with promise and toughness too. Exciting future for rocky top!

I truly believe that with what we have returning on D, plus having the conferences most experienced returning QB and a Heisman quality RB, that we will be in Atlanta on the first Saturday of December 2016 getting ready to knock off the west champion in the SECCG!

That is a cool stat! I would have mixed feelings about Jancek leaving if it wasn't for one play (4th and 14 vs Fla).

My coworker asked why we would get rid of him after such a nice year.

My response was 4th downs. Oklahoma and Florida. We stop those two teams and we write our own ticket.

A Tennessee-Alabama matchup in Atlanta is so intriguing. I get excited thinking about a 50/50 Tennessee-Alabama crowd with a spot in the playoff on the line.

(1) We need to stay injury free; especially, in the major positions. Hurd, Dobbs, Medley, etc. etc.

(2) Have to beat Florida. I don't see us ever beating Florida though. Even when we field a better team, they find that one play that breaks our back.

Not sure I'd include Medley in that group. All other points, yes.

I can't stand this attitude and the fact that I have seen this on this forum more than once makes me sick. What is up with the defeatist attitude? Is the Dooley era all you know? Perhaps we should just lie down on the field and throw out a white flag.

Lol. Perhaps you've been away for a while. It's not a Dooley attitude. It's a "every coach we have or get has a can't beat Florida button."

I never expect to beat Florida. Something always happens. You can throw all the attitude you want, but until Tennessee beats Florida, I won't expect it. Years of proof backs this feeling up.

Same here, orange frog... I just don't get it. To the extent that players think this way, it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Every year's team is different... trends are trends, but individual events don't always follow trends.

Anyway, as for next year... my only concern is the wobbling that will happen with a new set of coaches, even if they are outstanding at their job. It will be on Butch to meet the challenge of keeping things tight across the position groups.

FYP

Don't get me wrong it's a nice stat that shows how well our D played. But the yards are a little screwed by the last second 100 yard pick 6.

a yard is a yard though. And if randolph and foreman would have had any yds after theirs it would have been really funny.

But it is only a point so that we have something to think about...for fun

That whole game was fun. Besides I wanted to give EB his due. Every team we play holds it's collective breath every time he touches the ball.
