You realize your argument has not one thing to do with my post in response to the comment on page 1? Congratulations for your adamant defense of nothing. And why was it such a joke? Because of what you see on this board for one. Any coach considering this job had to look at the past administration problems and the demands of the fans as well. The straw that broke the camels back was how bad our roster was and how utterly horrible this year's schedule is. They all saw 3 to 5 wins, but us as fans don't get that. Also, when playing in a 2 division conference, they saw no chance at ever winning the division because we play Bama every year. Who wants a job coaching a team that is at least 0-1 before the first snap?
Just so we're clear, I am in no way bashing you. I just don't have a problem with the blame being placed where it should be. I just think that it's refreshing in a world where everyone gets a trophy that we finally have a coach that hold players responsible for the job they have to do and isn't affraid to criticize himself n staff just as much as the players on the field/roster.You got me there!!
If he wins, I don’t care what he says. If he loses, everything he says will be shredded to pieces.
Why because the coaches aren't blowing sunshine up your butt and handing out participation trophies when you suck?announcers only pass on what information they have been given by the coaching staff so they can look super smart. This staff gives all the blame to the players, if I was a player on this team I would no longer give my all.
Spot on!Oh boo hoo!
If you can’t handle criticism from the HC, then football definitely isn’t the sport for you.
These kids have been babied to death under Butch far too long and made them into pure wimps. The fans have turned into sensitive wimps as well because they don’t want to hear the truth. Our players aren’t very good nor even close to being halfway descent.
We’re undersized at the most important position right now and that’s at the line of scrimmage. No push, no holes created for the RBs, no pressure on the opposing QBs, I can keep going...
Define “Elite Talent” we have on this team because I’m sure as hell not seeing it right now.
I don’t blame Pruitt being frustrated with his team’s performance. Hell, I wouldn’t let half of them walk back to the locker room if they refuse to do their given assignments.
Bring in SEC players who are big, tough, and that’s willing to do things the right way that Pruitt keeps mentioning.
Sooner or later, you either learn it or you don’t. Time is ticking fast.

I agree to a extent, with the different schemes the players was recruited for and the expectations of the different staffs I tend to kinda watch the players he has brought in to run his schemes. And by doing that I tend to have a glimmer of hope by watching how these freshmen are playing and repsonding. Plus the actual improvement I've saw by a few of our players already on roster. Some kids take to tell coaching and siem seem to be set in there ways and refuse to change and take any new coaching to change the way they e been taught or played by previous regime. No hard feelings on my end. Just having a discussion, which is why we're all here.
As a fan, I don't have any problem admitting that Pruitt is more qualified than I am to be a coach. All I'm saying is there are other coaches who are qualified and who have had better results with less talent than we have now. At some point, when players aren't improving, it's appropriate for a fan to wonder what role the coach has had in their failure to improve.
I disagree, recruiting has been a problem, CBJ ‘s classes were vastly overrated, based on stars and numbers. But not getting needs, overemphasize WR, RB while neglecting the most important, lineman.Ryan Johnson was offered by Alabama. Not sure if it was by Pruitt or not. We had plenty of other guys offered by Georgia around the time he was there too. Not sure if he was the recruiter on them or not. We have multiple people offered by Urban at Ohio State, Brian Kelly at Notre Dame and other major programs.
Recruiting hasn't been a problem here as much as people want to complain about no talent. It's that none of it has developed worth a heck in years and years outside of the occasional spot development.
Your exactly right, team full of the type that would rather hear a lier tell them they’re 5 star heart champions of life than the truth from a straight shooter! They probably weren’t all that way when they got here but the Butch culture turned them into that! Why because the coaches aren't blowing sunshine up your butt and handing out participation trophies when you suck?
It's not about the team having NO talent...... it's where the level of talent is.....the Oline is void..... barren......desolate..... and this group is what makes the offense go.
Yes that’s what a bunch of disgusted players need. More staff turn over.I would seriously doubt that's happening, but if it's a large number of players on the team feeling that way, you have to have major staff shake ups during the off-season, because a key role of the staff is to give players faith they have a clue what they're doing.
When CJP stepped on campus there only 2 players on the roster he had previously recruited. 1 being Trey Smith, not sure on the other. With his reputation of an elite recruiter and being that he was recruiting the same areas, that's really telling.
It really showed today.
Yeah everyone keeps harping on talent... pretty sure the team that went toe for toe with us yesterday has a whole lot less talent than we do. Oh well, excuses will always be there.I dont care for it either. And when we look pathetic against a team full of people that have no power 5 conference offers, it makes you wonder what the issues really are.
The cold hard truth is mizzo and Kentucky actually have far less talent than we do, it won’t stop them from whipping our ass, but it isn’t because they are more talented than us.I would buy in to this if we were playing Bama every week but we are not. The better comparison would be on how our talent matches up against Florida and South Carolina.
I am willing to bet that Missouri or Kentucky do not have many players that Bama recruited either. So should be they be playing at our level too?
Yep, I agree.. bottom line coaches get paid to coach, sometimes you actually do have to make chicken salad out of chicken ****... if all that ever mattered was the talent level on a team there would be no reason to pay these guys millions of dollars, you could just have recruiters go out and bring in the players and then just let them play... Pruitt deserves some time here but the overall body of work this year doesn’t really have me all inspired with confidence.... hope I’m wrong. No hard feelings on my end. Just having a discussion, which is why we're all here.

People seem to forget that Kirby went 7-5 with a loss at home to Vandy his first year. This with a way way way more talented team than we have. He seems to be doing fine. I don’t understand what people imagined was going to happen when it’s the first year of a new coach with a completely different scheme after the worst year in the programs history. Yes some weeks have been disappointing including yesterday but to already say he’s in over his head or not a good coach is ridiculousSome people fail to realize this wasn't just a "we need better players issue".This mess runs futher than the football field, into front office up to fulmer etc.It takes a lot to turn a program around, especially one that's been thru what we have last couple years.Easy for a kirby or sumone steps in,inherits good team with good leadership above compared to Pruitt he had a steaming pile of sh*t from the moment he took the job.I myself am proud as hell of these boys, could we done better some yeah but they don't quit!We just don't have any depth,or the type of guys we need to finish these games etc..just my rant
No we got them beat pretty good all around.Yeah everyone keeps harping on talent... pretty sure the team that went toe for toe with us yesterday has a whole lot less talent than we do. Oh well, excuses will always be there.
