When CJP stepped on campus there only 2 players on the roster he had previously recruited. 1 being Trey Smith, not sure on the other. With his reputation of an elite recruiter and being that he was recruiting the same areas, that's really telling.

It really showed today.

You only need to blame the players when you're losing.
He don't just criticize when we lose, almost every presser he's had derogative things to say about the players and the way they play inconsistently and where "we" need to improve. And I've heard more times than not that the coaches need to do a better job of coaching to correct the issues, so I believe he's taking his part in the blame as well. Something the previous 2 regime's never done. Me personally, I'm good with it. In this world of where everyone gets a trophy it's kinda refreshing to hear.

He's totally throwing the players under the bus, IMO. Maybe it's warranted, but I don't care for it.

Is it any coincidence that what Pruitt says about the players gets said by almost every broadcaster at our games? I mean its one thing if just the coach says it but when virtually every sports analyst says the same thing? There is something to it.

Ryan Johnson was offered by Alabama. Not sure if it was by Pruitt or not. We had plenty of other guys offered by Georgia around the time he was there too. Not sure if he was the recruiter on them or not. We have multiple people offered by Urban at Ohio State, Brian Kelly at Notre Dame and other major programs.

Recruiting hasn't been a problem here as much as people want to complain about no talent. It's that none of it has developed worth a heck in years and years outside of the occasional spot development.

But what's he going to do?.

He’s literally paid millions of dollars (cue Prime Time Playas) to teach, scheme, lead. If there were nothing coaching could do, we should just pay a recruiting coordinator millions and get low paid scrubs to do the unimportant and irrelevant tasks of coaching.

He may be a good recruiter, but he needs to earn his money in coaching as well. He knew that when he took the job.

I agree, but how can he do that if the players don't want to be coached or just don't care?

I would seriously doubt that's happening, but if it's a large number of players on the team feeling that way, you have to have major staff shake ups during the off-season, because a key role of the staff is to give players faith they have a clue what they're doing.

announcers only pass on what information they have been given by the coaching staff so they can look super smart. This staff gives all the blame to the players, if I was a player on this team I would no longer give my all.
