Fulmer's take on TV, title game

I have a "lingering bewilderment" as to why he couldn't see it was time...and others couldn't see it either.

I am glad that's he's enjoying the tv tryout, and I think he did well...

But Griff are we ever gonna just let him go?

I could see Phil doing the TV gig, what I saw of him on ESPN looked like he could do well there.

Griff,

Personally, I thought Coach Fulmer (yes, I'll always call him that, and I was among the loudest voices calling for him to step down while he could) did a good job on ESPN.

And I think there will be a coaching job in his future, if that's what he wants.

One question...how long was it after Majors "left" that you stopped writing articles about him?

Just asking.

Go Vols.

Fulmer chuckled when he made mention of the irony of returning to the Georgia Dome one year later as an ex-head coach. There was no hint of bitterness in Fulmer's tone; just maybe a tad of lingering bewilderment.

He cannot be any more bewildered than the UT fanbase which endured two losing seasons and no bowl game in the last four years.

Phil's been around long enough to know that doesn't cut it. Perhaps the lack of understanding on that particular issue was the crux of Mike Hamilton's decision to part ways

He wasn't "bewildered" that we found it unacceptable, but that something was actually done about it. Finally. Several years past due.

ok, i for one, especially since the coaching future of Fulmer at UT has already been decided and put to rest in my mind, am glad Fulmer is moving on and doing other things, and i'm glad to hear/see that he's not yet turned in to some bitter old bastard.

i thought he was good on TV, and if given the opportunity, he can probably turn in to pretty darn good analyst with Reese and the guys.

anyway, i think it's safe to say that in the short term, all this change has worked out well for both parties, even if Fulmer thinks he should still be the coach. I think this has opened some doors for him he didn't know were there, and like he said, he gets to spend real time with his family again.

and we get to be reengergized as a fan base with all the goings on up on the Hill right now........

Get a clue and try writing about something that Vol Fans are interested in. Hint: topics of intrest do not include Phillip Fulmer (he's gone and it's over), other former Fulmer staff members (who cares), UT is spending too much $ on their current coaching staff (self intrest crybaby stuff).
