So could it be that he knows Pruitt is over his head and is waiting for opportune time to make a move (end of season or October) or he is still running around getting support from his bosses to make his next move ??

I really dont think if Fulmer thought Pruitt was the right guy, he would have kept quiet so long. He would have definitely come out and said something to calm the fans down.

I figure he is about as shocked as the fans are about what has transpired this season. Now Pruitt says were 100 percent better than last seasons team that won five games. A statement like that when you have lost to Georgia State just shocks you that much more. You start wondering how you gonna get out of this without looking to bad since your the guy that hired him.

I just don't think Dickey, would have gave Fulmer that long of a leash if he had stayed around.

No doubt, Fulmer bleeds orange.

With the transfers it's like we're still cleaning house, and the re-build is yet to come.

He's played his cards and Fulmer will back Pruitt till the end.

I would not expect Fulmer to pull the plug within 2 or more years. It's not the way he rolls.

If we learned anything from CHW leash is that it’s awfullu long and got an unwarranted extension

I think you are right, except I think he knows he can't do it this year. so he'll let Pruitt take that L before giving him the ole heave-ho. Then Fulmer will have a chance to again have a decent record as interim and take the reigns for a few years to stabilize the program and break Neyland's record for wins as UT's coach.

Fulmer didn't want to coach the Lady Vols though, I think he does still very much want to coach the football team, and this stinking pile of horse manure of a season Pruitt is serving us all probably grates on Fulmer worse than any of us.

Fulmer probably knows that (1) nothing he can say will help, and (2) nothing will come of unnecessary press releases or news conferences. How often do people joke about the whole "vote of confidence" press thing just before a guy gets fired? Yeah, all the time. So. There's nothing Fulmer can say which would help, and the people demanding change won't be satisfied until they see the coach fired; they will accept nothing less. The only way forward through the frenzy is to hunker down and push for results.

Personally, I think Fulmer let’s this year play out. I think he will have an eye on the recruiting class and how things go into next season. I think in Fulmer’s eyes, it only exacerbates the problem if he starts talking to the media about Pruitt. With how Fulmer was dealt with under Hamilton, I think Fulmer went into this giving Pruitt some wide latitude the first two seasons or so...even as much as some of us may not like it and want better results faster.

Not much you can say about thos garbage. I would imagine that Fulmer is feverishly trying to save his own neck right now.

That does scare me about Fulmer too.

At times he's loyal to a fault when it comes to doing the right thing for the program.

Same thing with Randy Sanders, and hoped he'd become more mature in that area.

It's going to be a bad day for Tennesee either way. But it will make the atmosphere really fun for a rivalry that has become rather uneventful.

Fulmer doesn’t have any answers. He wasn’t qualified to be AD and is proving it constantly.

Fulmer knows shat when he see's and smells it, so I don't hink he really knows what to say (he's thinking, this can't be happening) however

Fulmer is more connected than folks may realize (or have forgotten). He doesn't have to officially say anything to spread his message. You hear folks coming out to reiterate that CJP needs time, he walked into a mess, he has the ADs support, etc. There are many more ways of communicating besides directly coming out and putting out a formal press release or conference. If for nothing else, he will use his connections to test the waters and reactions while simultaneously limiting perceived liability.
