When UT drops another game, Fulmer will go down as the only coach in UT history to lose eight games in season.

I hate what he has done to the program of late and I also believe he stumbled ass backwards into a national title (based upon the recruiting of guys like RG). However, they guy did bring home the Sears trophy and for that deserves his spot in the HOF and as a UT great.

Its going to leave a bad memory in most peoples mind of phillip. He hung on to long. He was allowed to hang on too long. These players have a disdain now for mike hamilton which isn't healthy. Its a huge mess up there right now.

Time takes care of many things. All will be forgot in short order and only the good will be remembered by most.

He will go down as a legend for winning a national title. In 10 years most will not even think about the last years.

I hope so in regards to phillip. I don't hold so much hope out for some of these players. They don't respect the AD. May take awhile for them to warm up to the new coach also. Were in for a ride. Your right its going to take time to fix this mess.

Beef... I believe that you are mostly correct. I Hope that what I'm about to type is totally wrong; however, I would give odds that the "He Done Johnny Wrong Conspiracy Bunch(H.D.J.W.C.B.)" will still be operating to remind everyone of just how bad it was at the end for the next 10 years. I will always believe that a significant factor in the downturn of recruiting was in part, initiated by the negative perception of the program brought on by the H.D.J.W.C.B.'s agenda...The lack of Vol Fan unity was, and is easily used by coaches recruiting against the Vols, and by the fans from other schools...(who also influence these same recruits). The "Legend" will continue to be defamed for at least another 10 years. :hi:

How so? The talent level probably topped out somewhere between 1999 and 2001 a good 7 or 8 years after Fulmer got the job. If there was a negative perception, why would it have laid dormant for almost 10 years before it had an effect?

And we finally hear from good ole Beef. The man who lives in denial about the players and coach fulmer. The only ones that wont remember this will be the fulmerites that live in denial, the rest of us that see what is really going on will always remember Phil as the man who took us a high as we could go and as low as we could go. Nov 8 2008 a day that will always be remembered by vol fans just like the N Texas State game. By the way Beef what excuse do you have for the poor players who lost to a team that lost to New Mexico 24-0 and Bowling Green 45-16.

Finally? Hey goob Ive not quit posting. Ive made no excuses and you are an idiot if you dont think that in 10 years from now he will be remembered by the majority of VOL fans for the good. You dont have to like it but it will be so. If Majors would not have been such a ahole he would be treated much better.

There is no way in my mind we win out the way we have played. 9 is very possible.

OMG thinking of TN going 3-9 makes me have to vomit. :yuck:

"The University of Fulmer" , I couldn't have put it better...This is Phil's house ever since he pushed Johnny out. I remember the rumors of how it was either him or me. Johnny out and Phil in after a thrashing by SC..how ironic.. i am sure i am not the first to have said it..But as my dad says, "What goes around comes around." Now Phil is acting like this is the first time this has ever happened and dragging his players along with him. Glad Mike H. had the gonads to do what he did when he did. Phil did some good things no doubt, but along the way he has lost the magic or whatever it was that happened 10 years ago. If the loss this weekend doesn't open everyone's eyes i doubt anything will. I recommend we hire Moses we are that far away! I also did not like how he threw Nick under the bus. Phil's words as I recall, "If it wasn't for the 2 interceptions we would have won 7-0"

Your first post and you sound like a goob. I think it was time and the right decision was made. But if you think Fulmer or any other asst coach would have made Dickey choose you're wrong. Dickey would have laughed him right off the campus. Also, did Nick throw 2 picks?
