Fulmers competence

Can Phil make the right hire

Fulmer bleeds orange and loves this university.

You know I keep hearing that, and don't doubt it one bit. However there are many, many, folks who love this university. The Haslams are just one example. Loving the "T" does not make someone perfect at any job they take. Lots of great players can't coach. Lots of coaches aren't cut out to be ADs. We'll see over the next year or two. Other tasks await after this hire, and are just as important.

About 7 days ago most of you wanted Currie to be thrown off a bridge for being the worst AD in the history of organized sports, and now you’re saying Fulmer is worse, and he hasn’t even hired anyone yet. Great thread.

Fulmer has been part of the problem since he won the title and then got signed go a lifetime contract he couldn't even meet the conditions of by winning 8 games.

Expecting him to be the solution is foolhardy at best. He got the whole ball rolling on this mess in the first place.

just your opinion I am a Fulmer supporter of which there are many

Lots of idiots on here ready to crucify somebody before an action takes place like they have a reputable source. IF he hires him, it’s stupid to say fire him before the season starts. I don’t think he’s the best hire but he was a head coach over 15 years ago. Should probably look more at recent history on a comparable school level.

Currie had Leach in the bag. He had at least one good one on the hook. I don't know if Fulmer has even interviewed a good one yet.

No fascination with Leach, he is a bizarre character that would never fit into the VOL’S culture. Probably a fine coach, just a strange personality.

He’s an honest coach who’s not afraid to speak his mind.

He wins football games and shakes off the media whether it’s good or bad.

He turned freaking WSU into a Top 25 team immediately.

Probably what UT’s Administration needs is a HC with balls.

Not mutually reclusive

How is it all you posters know so much more about coaching than the whole UT AD including Fulmer? If you all are so FN smart about who to hire or not to hire as the next UT coach, then get your FN resume over to Davenport immediately so she can let you select the next UT HC......:bad:

Fulmer has been on the job 4 days and is a lot closer to getting a hire than Currie was hafter knowing for weeks that he was going to dump Jones.

Nope, clearly he's the anti-christ. May as well choose another team.

So far Fulmer has yet to be involved in putting an MOU in place with a career .500 coach associated in the worst pedophile case in college football history. So yeah he's doing exponentially better than Currie for now.

Currie was a foul ball before he even arrived in Knoxville. K-State was happy the day he became the Vols HC.

Has Fulmer publicly thrown himself at weaker and weaker coaches who used him to get a better deal? No? Ok, just checking.
