I’m not sure a 9-36 record is a part of a “great resume”

Some quality as a coordinator for sure but he is VERY unproven as the top dog.

Baylor was quite possibly the worst power 5 program in the country before he took over, so hard to hold it against him. I'm sure he's learned a lot sincen then.

I would put Pruitt in the same boat as Kirby a couple of years back, look how thats turned out!

Through this whole thing he seems to be the only competent person so far for us. At his press conference it felt like there was finally an adult in the room.

If the decision is Kevin Steele, I'd be satisfied. Not the "wow" coach everyone wanted, but he has great resume and has coached under several HOF and future HOF coaches.

His resume is NOT great
Unless he is interviewing for DC

To Be honest; I thought Phil was slipping in 2005. I never thought Phil was the sharpest knife in the drawer. I'm concerned to say the least. He wasn't sharp enough to be an analyst for Cbs. Just my observations. Flail away.

Chris Low was just one WVLT. Said Fulmer is deciding between Steele and Tucker. Said that Fulmer doesn't care in the least what the fans think of the hire. He is making it and basically everyone else can flip off.

Isn’t not listening to the fans one of the reasons Currie/Haslam fell out of favor? How is it a good thing now?

None of us know what the next coach will do. He could be great, mediocre or awful. If I was choosing I would not be choosing between Steele or Tucker, I think Venables would be ok but I want Brohm, (viable) Petersen, not viable. I hope at least if we choose from the left overs it is Venebles.

Now for a real question..
How much trust do you put in all these opinions on Volnation??

Letme see if I remember this right..10 yrs ago the University of Tennssee fired fulmer because they didn't like the way he coached, now they hire him back to find a coach. Yeah we in good shape.:)

Because Phil cares about Phil.

He isn't half as altruistic as people on here make him out to be. The man feels slighted and has a very high sense of self-worth.

Shouldn't there be an in between. I mean I voted the second but I don't really feel that strongly negative. But I'm not strongly positive either.

If Steele is hired, the athletic department is going to take a major financial hit. Expect a ton of empty seats on gameday

He can not be let off the hook because he is a VFL. If this coach fails, he has to get the boot. All you people cupping his grapes need to agree that he gets one coaching hire, if it doesn't work out he has to go. And boy, not looking good right now.

Venables is the only one I'd have some confidence in, unless he can pull off a Peterson miracle.

Well not to be cupping his grapes but you kinda get be him a mulligan cause this hire was shot to hell before he even got to get involved. Botch, Currie, Manning and Haslam butchered this from the word go.......... it could be kinda hard to get a quality coach to come to a program that has been thenlaughing stock of college football since pssh, I don’t know this time last year.
