Fulmer will be in Neyland for WKU?

That would never happen, unless he boo's when Kiffin is introduced as the Head Coach.

i dont think he would do anything like that. seems like as a person he'd be less bitter than majors was for that 15 year period or so

as for anyone doing anything, yeah i seriously doubt it. Couse there's always that one drunken idiot/jerk

how sad it that? A young coach having to reach out to a bitter, 60-year-old coach... and having the 60-year-old refuse the extended hand... I wonder if the Fulmerites understand now?

No... they'll never understand. Ignorance is bliss.

Kiffin reached out to him.

it's fair to say that anyone who just got fired less than a year ago is going to want some time before they associate with the guy hired to replace them

see above, but also

Now explain to me then why so many fans here keep applauding/loving majors after that bitter old man had spent the last 15 years saying so much bad about the program and then-incumbent coach too?

I would agree with you if Kiffin hadn't extended his hand. You just don't act like a freaking 4 year old and take your ball and go home. Or maybe you do if you're Fulmer.

And, Majors has many, many more reasons to be upset about Fulmer. Please tell me you're not going to compare Fulmer taking over for Majors and Kiffin taking over for Fulmer.

With CLK up Johnnie's butt, it will take a while for PF to cool down. It is a real shame that the coach who brought us a National Championship and all those good years is not the one that has CLK's head in his butt.

If CLK has 2 or 3 bad years will PF come back?

I am not going to bash Fulmer i am very greatfull for the time he put into the university i was one of those fans that was both upset and glad he was let go,Mainly because Fulmer is the only coach i have ever known,I am very excited with the new staff as far as fulmer at the game i hope he has a good time it will be tough but he will have to just work like heck (little jab) to get threw it.

Fulmer is still in denial. I have no respect for him until he admits there was a problem. His "don't know where the offense has gone" comment and deer in the headlights look told me all I needed to know. The great ones don't have to keep reminding you how many games they won. I'm not a hater, but please let the new staff/players have their moment. The classy thing to do would be to support "your guys" from the confines of your home so as not to be a distraction.

He was involved in the school for so long, it's good to see him still supporting us. I still love Phil... he just wan't getting the results needed anymore. I hope CLK can get the boys where they need to be. I expect a National Championship in at least 3-4 years, or he's gone. For that price... and when other new coaches have gone in and done it (eg Mark Richt and Urban Meyer), CLK is on a deadline

I dont necessarily think there HAS to be a national title in 3-4 years. It would be nice, dont get me wrong. I think i speak for most when i say a couple of sec championships would be just fine. If it leads to a trip to the national championship game then he!! yeah. If it doesnt then ill still be satisfied.

Ok. here we are 1 day before kick off and we are still talking about (ex) CPF. I thought he had a TV gig that started this Saturday anyways. Go Vols! Good Luck CLK!

Unless he demonstrates differently, lets take him at his word that he is still a Tennessee person and some of these players were his recruits. If he takes shots at the new coaching staff, then it is a different matter entirely. Personally, I am thrilled about the beginning of the Kiffin era. I think it is classy of Fulmer to attend for the right reasons.

I agree if it was actually for the right reasons. At this point i just dont see it. He talks about "his" players in his quote. Not one word about the new coaching staff or the incoming freshman. I could honestly care less if he showed up.

Maybe he is going to use a private jet and get to Atlanta in time for the game there. He could you know it is only a 30-45 min flight. He needs to sit in the stands and enjoy the game like all loyal Vols and keep his mouth shut after the game win or lose. He may need to concentrate on the investment business instead of looking for a new coaching job. There are a lot of "let go people out there now with lots of good skills, (current ones at that). I agree that he should have been man enough to retire, draw his big retirement check from the state, university and wherever and then we would not have all this negative stuff coming from his mouth,.....He had the time to retire. GO VOLS,,,LETS SHOW THE WORLD WE ARE STILL THE POWER VOLS.:dance2::good!::whistling:

When exactly was that Mark Richt-led Georgia national championship?

What would be classy for Fulmer to do is write a nicely-worded letter to Kiffin and the new staff extending his best wishes and inviting them over for dinner after the season. A phone call or visit would be too personal right now, and too much of a distraction with the season starting tomorrow. (But he should not sign the letter, "Keep workin' like heck" because a curse may fall upon the new staff if he does.)

I truly believe a percentage of Vol fans hope it's all a joke and Fulmer comes jogging into the T Saturday.

What would be classy for Fulmer is for him to disappear for a while until the animosity dies off...

Phil Fulmer won a national championship and had a pretty damn good record and lane kiffin hasnt even coached a game and everyone is acting like he is a god. I agree that the right move was made in the situation it was time for fulmer to go and the program needed to head in a new direction but is it right for us to sit here and say that fulmer should just stay far far away from a program hes been in touch with basically his whole adult life. I dont think so..And as far as kiffin goes im excited as can be with this staff and the recruits hes got...BUT he has got to prove himself and even though phil made alot of mistakes hes got a national title under his belt..and led us to alot of victories so im not gonna sit here and dog his ass and make jokes
