Fulmer: "We miscalculated the speed of Harvin"

Cover the fastest guy on UF with a linebacker and then act surprised when you get beat.

Maybe we should check the film?

If you check the film you'll see Karl actually defended it well. Better than the DB's

Seems like he was referring to the pass from the one when Harvin beat the defender down the field. Sounds like a "we" as in team taking the blame instead of singling out the corner. Kinda like the "we's" all of you use when "we" win and then the "Fulmer's fault' win "they" lose.
does it really matter what kind of spin you want to put on it? how does ANYONE miscalculate the speed of this guy? more importantly, if you really HADN't, how do you get caught in that kind of situation?

WE suck. how 'bout that?

different play, but you're right. i was surprised about that.

it made me think about Karl saying "we played too fast" in the Cal game...after seeing him make that play on Harvin, maybe he wasn't full of it after all?:eek:lol:

Not to mention it was an absolute perfectly thrown ball with a heck of a fingertip catch. 1st down from the one down by 14 late in the 3rd you have to bring the house and hope to get a safety. They(UF) anticipated that, we (UT's defense) didn't get to Tebow in time, we(the corner back) miscalculated Harvin's speed, we (UT) lost, and now you (VolNation) think the only reason for that is because of him (Fulmer). You win and lose as a team end of story. Fans are part of the team until the team struggles then it goes from "we" to 'them".

I think we are more reserved than many other Vol sites. (not a member but read some others)

I think he was talking about the ONE play where our DB got beat from the 1 yd line. I believe he was saying that they thought the DB was fast enough to keep up, thus allowing for single coverage. They miscalculated that, so there was no Safety shading over to him, just one guy. He was about 1/2 a step slow.

Did he watch Harvin in the SECC game against Arky? What about the BCSC game? I have read that the Achilles issue with him is an injury that will always be present. Harvin has supposedly had this issue since high school and as long as he doesn't aggravate or tear, it just gets sore after games and he is limited in practice. From what I witnessed, it is more of a facade than a real injury.

So what does harvin get slower the further away he gets from his own goal line? I dont get your comment. If you miscalculate his speed on one play, you miscalculated his speed period. Unless the defender thought he was running slower than he really was and that gap that might have looked like he was getting beat was an optical illusion. Honestly I dont understand the logic of your comment.

I guess if Fulmer is not responsible for the team's performance, we should just get a student coach we dont have to pay then right? I guess that also means I dont have to show up to teach classes all year, I can just give them the final on the first day and whatever grade they get, they get, because it is not my responsibility, but the classes?

His point was they thought our DB could man up and cover him. This would allow our D to go after the QB and the safety. Obviously they were wrong and "miscalculated".

i don't think you beat him down, if he didn't get cramps he woulda kept ya'll off the field. he did run for what almost 200 yards? so i don't think ya'll beat him down. he drug ya'll all over the field.

I really don't understand your point but I bet no matter how great of a teacher you are not everyone gets an "A". An "A" game is what it takes to beat a top ten team. My higher education has taught me that anything aside from math, science, or engineering courses I can teach myself and found instructors to be conveyor's of information from a book or powerpoint that I could read on my own. Yes, in the end it is the students responsibility not yours.

Right back at you, 59. That's my new favorite number.

The only difference is there is no one trying to say that we beat Florida down. Only bammers are that delusional. You guys really owned McFadden huh.

Now show me where I claimed that we beat anyone down. You should kneel down and give a prayer of thanks to your Saban shrine that in addition to the 200 yards of rushing, the 49 return yards he had made him cramp or he would still be running against you.
