Just making some crazy discussions here.. when he was helping last year with the oiline and Tennessee had to report the violations..did this stoke him up wanting to coach again.. he’s been watching Snyder at Kansas St then saw his old pal Mack at UNC maybe that’s stoked him up.. this is for discussion, something I don’t particularly believe but could be some truths if we are throwing sh-t at the wall..

I don't want Phil Fulmer to take over as head coach however he could very well be sticking his nose into the activities of Jeremy Pruitt and his coaching staff.

Just dumb. Fulmer is not the problem with this team. Period.
Agreed anybody that is claiming Phil is doing a crap job as the AD needs to GTFO imo. He's elevated the BB program and kept UCLA from buying Rick Barnes. He let go of Holly warlock in which should have happened a while ago and the baseball program had their best year in about a decade with a new coach in who he hired. Saturday was alarming and sure wished fulmer or Pruitt elaborated more on why the outcome happened but I don't think anything has changed with the way Pruitt approaches his job. If he didn't like it here he wouldn't have went out and upgraded the staff with the hiring of Chaney, tee, and Ansley. Now do they need to prove there worth? Sure but the fact that they got those big names in here showse he's willing to try to get this thing turned around. I will say though if they come out flat again on Saturday then this season could be very very ugly.

One minor correction - the previous AD hired the baseball coach.

Something is going on in river city. Time will reveal it. The crap we are seeing today is very telling, even to homers.

Sure but would have the previous AD been willing to fork out the money Fulmer had too keep him? No way

The alternative would have been allowing his hand-picked successful coach to walk after one year.
But, who knows? The previous AD always seemed to be totally out of touch with the fanbase.

At Fulmer's age, the answer is a resounding NO, I would think his ambition would be limited to 2 or 3 more years as AD at best

Fulmer needs to do AD stuff and leave football to the guys he hired. Keep your nose out of the football Fulmer.

Fulmer loves UT. He’s got a fantastic job, using his notoriety to raise money and lead from the admin side. He just needs to keep sitting with boosters, convince them that if this is indeed happening that he will take care of it as long as everyone is finally ready to break the bank and make someone like Dabo say no. Make fishers contract look like league minimum. We have a lot of bad decisions to undo. If they make a statement about winning finally, everyone will be paying attention to the vols for new reasons.
