Bruce Feldman, a top-notch reporter, would not have put his reputation in danger for reporting this if it wasn't true.

That's great Philip is doing this in the best interest of UT. However, two wrongs don't make it right.

I voted no because I think it's odd that after being fired, Fulmer is still hanging around UT.

If I get fired, I am not hanging around.

Go fishing, get another job, move to the coast. Hang around where they fired me? No

I understand your point, and future coaches may be worried. However, his beef was likely with Currie, and now that he's out, who is left to sabotage? Any further actions and he's sabotaging the school he so dearly loves. JMO

But some times you have to blow everything up in order to build it back and there may be collateral damage. But it had to be done to right the Vol navy and begin the climb back to the top.
Everyone has been calling for the AD department to be blown up and now it has happened and they are pissed at the guy they think did it? Unbelievable.

I crossed paths with Phil in our undergrad years and thought he was a good guy and have always pulled for him.

Fulmer as AD will be a HUGE mistake!

All serious coaches want to know who their boss/AD is going to be for several years and that there's stability at the AD position.

Fulmer is NOT that guy and he's NOT qualified to be our AD.

Blackburn should have been hired as our AD after Hart and most on here know that.

Right this minute, before the press release of Fulmer as our AD, we all need to protest and blow up social media to hire Blackburn as our AD right NOW!

Blackburn is a Tennessee guy and has worked in the AD before and he will revamp our AD, get things in good order and he'll hire us a great coaching staff that knows how to recruit against anyone because he'll know that his job is also on the line.

We all need to be screaming HIRE BLACKBURN NOW and get the fan protest going as fast as we can so we get a good coaching staff hired and they can get busy recruiting good players.

If you don't like being treated like mushrooms, don't act like one. Everyone who knows anything about Phillip Fulmer, is that he is a fox in the hen house, a politician, always working the the good of PF. Don't blindly say I trust him, because that makes you look like an idiot. There is no question of his love for UT, its just his method of getting back into the fold that raises my eyebrow.

Amen. Sabatoging the coaching hire would be grounds for immediate termination if true.

I certainly think Currie was looking at some of the wrong coaches to hire, but that was just dirty by Fulmer if true. If there's one positive IMO, it's that we haven't been stuck with another bad hire yet.

Who out there cares more about UT than a former player and coach? Currie? Kiffin? Gruden? No....Fulmer. if he was sabotaging anything, it was for the good of the program. Phil is the most maligned me in UT history and he's still here trying to help. That's loyalty.

Do I think Fulmer should make the decisions to achieve Tennessee's best interest? Not sure.

Absolutely. There was only one choice for AD this last go around - three candidates and one choice. Davenport passed on Fulmer - the obvious choice, and went with the completely unqualified incompetent in the bunch.

It takes someone in a profession to evaluate others in the profession. I can't understand why that's so hard to understand. Football is the backbone of Tennessee athletics, and the coach is the driving force, so the AD has to be a guy with the coaching experience to keep it all on the rails. That simply is someone with experience in the business - not someone who was taught how to be an administrator.
