I really don't who to trust TBH. To sabotage the coaching search process while destroying the university's reputation for personal gain is a whole new level of backstabbing corruption.

The thought of him sabotaging Currie's tenure scares me from a trust aspect, but Currie was the worst AD I've ever experienced in my life. So Fulmer may have done us a favor in sparing us from years of poor management (although Currie may have done 10 years worth of damage).

On the other hand, I think Fulmer lives and breathes UT football. So here's to hoping he does absolutely everything he can to get us back to the top.

Guys, Fulmer always said that things in AD/Admin went downhill once Dickey retired and Hamilton (cash guy) came in and took over.

We need a football guy in the AD...

You can't just turn off the ability to sabotage like a light switch. I don't trust him at all. The toothpaste is out of the tube, and my guess is hearing about that isn't going to make many other coaching options trust him either.

I mean if the new coach doesn't do what Fulmer wants, is he going to sabotage them too? You know that's what coaches are thinking.

So now we have a second poll. I vote we have several throughout the day. I imagine the results will change as more is understood.

Does that really justify the backstabbing and ruining of Currie? To me, this is an ethical issue.

Intentionally sabotaging the coaching search for power at the expense of the university just isn't right in any way, shape, or form.

Edit: I'm NOT defending Currie's ineptitude however.

Sounds like the whole ad needs to be burned to the ground with wholesome cleansing fire. Anyone above janitor should be sent packing.

We don't know he did that. Brett McMurphy who said that also "broke the story" in 2011 that West Virginia had applied for membership in but had been rejected by both the SEC and ACC. WVU actually had not applied to either conference. A WVU official called his story an "outright lie".

We don't know anything that's going on but we do know that Phil Fulmer bleeds orange and whatever he does he truly believes it's in the best interest of UT.

May have been the only way to break Haslam control

If these rumors are true, that Fulmer was actively working against Tennessee in it's coaching search, specifically with Mike Leach - then I have no idea how you can trust him.

It appear like he has hurt Tennessee and prolonged this embarrassment for his own personal gain. It's not a good look.
