You really think so? At a program with no historical significance and in a region dominated by a few perennial powerhouses? I respectfully will have to disagree with you on this one. If his record there is .500 he would be incredibly lucky. The man is done. I'm sorry that's just the way it is. And I don't think his inability to have an Offense that scores would make it in the Big 12.

I still think if he does coach again, and is going to a rebuilding job, it will be in the south.

Why would he put himself in that situation. The guy is making 2+mil a year to sit around and do nothing. I doubt he is in a hurry to jump back into the fire for a couple of years.

ISU would be a good fit! They want a NATIONAL coach. He is that. they know they will never compete year-in-year -out in the Big 12. 6-8 wins is good there, and a couple of 9 win yrs would make him an idol. ISU fans are great.

It would be a plus for him and the university. Why not???? I'm sure Major's will help him with boosters!:rolleyes:

I say Fulmer is a better fit for the Oak Ridge job that recently opened!

As long as he could beat Clinton every other year, they would love him!

I bet Farragut would be his Florida though
Eddie Courtney = Urban Meyer to Fulmer!

Fulmer has the same chance of winninng nine games in a season at Iowa State that Bobby Johnson does of winning an SEC title at Vanderbilt. None.

As an Oak Rdige Alum I can say that they won't be happy beating clinton every other year...they expect that every year. Oak Ridge followers have about the same expectations as do Tennessee fans, however realistic that may be.

Nothing would be finer to see the sick feeling Phil gets when he steps foot on campus to see the Johnny Majors Practice Complex on a daily basis. Majors is revered at iowa state.

If fulmers wins 6 games at that dreadful program and goes to a bowl, which is possible due to their weak schedule, he will be a hero--they may build a statue of him outside the stadium like fsu did with bobby bowden.

Dan McCarney did that with regularity. They fired him. Fulmer would go there, fail miserably, and never be heard from again. Now that I think about it, I fervently want him to get that job.

McCarney won 7 or more games in 5 of his final 7 seasons in Ames. The Cyclones played in a bowl in each if those seasons. So much for your theory.

I don't see hiring Fulmer energizing their fanbase, and getting people to buy tickets, which is what most coaching changes are for. I think their AD will pass.

Good grief! Give it a rest! Foolmer is a failure and I don't see any school wanting him to downgrade/destroy their program with arrests, felons, gangsters, drunks, no discipline whatsoever, etc, etc. He is bad news incarnate and it would yield dreadful results for anyone wanting him to come onboard.
