Would the team suffer at all if Phil removed himself from all activities pertaining to coaching and simply spent his time being uber recruiter?

My contention is that the coordinators, unimpeded by Phil, would do a better job of preparing / motivating their charges than is currently being done.

How much is the university of tennessee willing to pay this "uber-recruiter" that you speak of?

phil fulmer == mack brown == lloyd carr

I like to call all of them "dead weight" coaches. They can bring in some talent, but without good coordinators they are mediocre to quite mediocre as coaches.

Keep calling him head coach and paying him, just make sure that he stays completely removed from anything other than cheerleading and recruiting.

Heck, that might be exactly where we are today, I don't really know.
