Fulmer talking to Miles

The reality of the situation is that any coach that comes here has a couple of years or recruiting and building to get back to the 8-9 win range. This is a 4 win program at this very moment. With younger hot commodity coaches there is an uncertainty. Especially in SEC recruiting

With guys like Miles and Cutt , you know they will recruit and coach fundamental football and will stabilize the program. Who cares if their ceiling is 8-9 wins? You can count on them to get there , unlike the rising stars their ceiling is far more predictable. Once they stabilize the program / recruiting , it would be time for an old guy to retire and UT can move into a new era.

Wow, somebody is finally getting it! We have HAD the hot new coach rising through the ranks since Fulmer left. Where are we? In the gutter! We needed Muller because he can manage an SEC program, not a major program, and SEC program. Currie blew that one (with help I'm sure) but our needs have not changed. Bring in Miles to stabilize things, install a young up-and-comer like Tee at OC and/or DC to be "coach in waiting" and to keep the program fresh, and if that person works out, in 3-4 years, Miles can retire and the CIW can assume the HC job.

I don't want another "maybe" from a second tier coach. I would be willing to give a chance to an OC/DC from a mojor SEC school who is ready to step up, I'll support whoever, but I'm ready to play it safe and get back to winning! Right now, a coach who can win 4 SEC games and get us a decent bowl next year is a big improvement!
