Fulmer subpoenaed by Pruitt

Seems like an obvious move for Pruitt's team.

I think he should get a probation for Show Cause. The game itself has changed since the punishment was meted out to Pruitt and his crew.
Then this ends if he, Niedermeier, and the rest can keep their noses clean for a few seasons.

that would take a nimble organization with astute leadership, and ability to pivot quickly.

all we have is a neutered sloth.

😯🤥

Pruitt's lawsuit states that "one or more individuals in the UT Athletics Department or boosters had systematically engaged in making payments to players at a time when NCAA rules did not allow such payments. It is believed persons within the UT Athletics Department solicited and received money from high profile businessmen and alumni to fund the clandestine payments to the players. Jeremy was unaware of this activity during his tenure at UT. It is believed UT intentionally hid the scheme from Jeremy based on Jeremy’s willingness to report violations — like he did to [then-athletic director Phillip Fulmer] within his first week of coaching at UT."

Fulmer should be held accountable for what he did to this program. He pushed for the AD job behind the scenes and then screwed it up. I have no doubt Curry would have made a better hire than Fulmer. I've been a Vol fan since the 60' s , I'm not as high on Fulmer as many are.
He won the only national championship you will ever see.

Surely he didn’t say that. His own wife was involved. Was she hiding it from Jeremy too?

Florida State lost their starting QB. You are really sharp, your name says so.
Demeaning our W is beneath you. Teams lose player through out the season and their backup better damn be ready to play. Outzen had minutes in every games in 98 and started the last three games with Ws over Wake Forest and Florida. So stop the nonsense.

It's the same argument he made to the NCAA in his initial response to the NCAA allegations.

It would be kicking a cowpie but if I were UTK and Fulmer I would file a lawsuit against Pruitt, subpoena him then ask where he learned such dirty tricks

Currie had every opportunity to make a better hire, but he mismanaged the search more than any AD at any school I can think of. Not just the Schiano disaster, but he fell for the Gundy nonsense, then got publicly rejected by the coaches at Purdue and NC State. And then for whatever reason, he went rogue and refused to tell his bosses where he was while he was in California with Mike Leach.

The funny thing is, if he had just gone straight to Leach after the Schiano debacle, Leach likely would have been the hire and Currie would most likely still be here.

Maybe Curry would have made a better hire and maybe not. I am not a fan of Fulmer anymore at all. But in all honesty, can you really blame him for hiring Pruitt? I mean other DCs have been hired and found success. And Pruitt was an elite DC at multiple schools. You have to think that hardly anyone would have wanted the job here. We were literally at rock bottom.

As far as the pushed for the AD job behind the scenes? I don’t know about that. Maybe he did. I do agree that he shouldn’t have been hired as the AD. I blame the ones above Fulmer more than Fulmer himself. Although I don’t ever want Fulmer around this football program again. He should be barred for life.

This post makes me think that Currie may have thought that he was being undermined by someone in the program. Hmm….

At the time, with the choices available, most pundits thought Fulmer made the best hire possible. Curry was going to hire Schiano and it was met which such opposition it got him fired. Curry was totally incompetent.
