it is very sad to listen at how stupid some of our fans are. with tha competition and parity of college football today, i think coach fulmer has done and will continue to do a great job. we have no right to talk about bama fans because i cannot tell a big difference right now in ours and theirs.

...and for good reason, because both schools are mired in abject mediocrity right now.

Disturbing trends:

Losing at home to ranked opponents.

Losing bowl games.

Failing to win SEC championships.

Good coaches find ways to accomplish the above tasks, and that should be our benchmark.
Are you suggesting it's time to put Coach Fulmer probation? Win so many games or else?

Agreed!

NONE of you have a right to talk crap about Bama fans. No room at all!

What you all need is to loose to Bama 6 or 7 out of the next 10 years to get things back into perspective for you.

Taking your trends a step further how about losing bowl games to teams that we should not lose to. Maryland, Clemson, Penn State.

And what makes everyone think we can get anyone better?

Really, look at the pool..there is nothing to pool from. No coaches out there that would be worth hiring that would actually leave the school they are coaching at.

Seriously take a look...we would be in the same boat as Bama at this point. Unless you have a great coach ready to say yes and make a committment..you dont fire a coach who has one of the highest winning percentages in the country and has a national title and fire them and expect another coach to go "whooo, great school..they do well to their coaches who win quite a few games..yah, I want to go there." NOT

The well is dry right now as far as coaches with the ability to take this team to the next level.

Unless you have a Nick Saban on a plane heading to your town right now with a signed contract in hand..you don't make the move. It backfires more than it works.

And then we are all on here bitching about how we are going 7-5 every year.

Said this in another thread....There are plenty of coaches that can go 9-4 for alot less money!

How about Chris Peterson from Boise State? The man has the kind of guts and ingenuity we could use.

Somebody is going to land him, why not Tennessee?

He'll soon be the hottest young coach in the country.

I wouldn't be sold on him yet... How is Dan Hawkins doing at Colorado? He made some great calls at the end of the game, but before the game in the interview, he seemed completely new to footballl... He funs an NCAA 2007 style offense... Maybe he will be great, but we can't judge him yet.

The same thing were said about Petrino, Rodriguez, Stoops, Richt, Meyer, et al.

Somebody gave'em a chance. The same thing is going to happen to Peterson.

I'm pretty sure they had more than a year to judge... Give him at least one more.

Peterson isn't a first year HC is he? And Boise has been fairly impressive for sometime.

My only point being is that he will soon be the toast of the coaching community, and some major University will see him as steal and give him a shot.

Meyer was seen as gimmiky too. I predicted he would fail miserably in the SEC.

Oops.
