Honestly? I was in the bunch that was calling for his firing in '08 but at the same time praying that we wouldn't regret it a few years down the road. I'm regretting it now.

I honestly believe now as i did then that he shouldn't have been fired in the first place. He was simply the second best coach this program has seen and people continue to bash on him.

That was the last straw for me on Fulmer too. Saban went 4-4 in conference play, but he beat us 41-17 with less talent just like the SEC championship game when he was coaching LSU. Look guys, Fulmer had a great run the first 10 years and had plenty of time to get back to mid 90's form later on but never seemed to get us back up there. I appreciate Fulmer for being Tennessee through and through, but it was time for UT to move on.

Doesn't matter who his teams were up against. They won didn't they? I've really grown tired of the crap being thrown out about Fulmer and his teams. They won/the end. How many UT coaches are wearing NC rings right now from UT championship games? That's the bottom line.

The majority of the years that Fulmer was beating Bama,
Bama was going through was Tennessee is going through now. The SEC had two elite teams at that time, Tennessee and Florida, and what was Fulmer's record against Florida?

He should have just coached the game since he was already there in the first place. I'd love to see dooley fired tomorrow and fulmer come in as interim hc.

I think UT did good thing at the time. Lane bout beat Bama that won sec and national champ and played fla tough. He also had quality wins against UGA and SC. We would be a top10 team by now if not better if Lane did not screw us. Dooley has not had a quality win and very little improvement if any.

Who won a NC in 98? Who had the 2nd most wining record at UT. Quit regurgitating the crap thrown out by the people who try to downgrade what Fulmer did.

I have yet to hear anyone downgrade the NC, I really do not know what you are talking about. I was responding to the posts saying Fulmer beat Alabama, which he did, during the years Alabama sucked. Things are different now, any half decent coach can beat a team when they are down.
