If you could only keep one coach at the UT, who would it be? you also have to take into consideration how important the sport is to the school.
ill say bruce pearl.
The funny thing about this is that you said take into consideration how important the sport is to the school and you still said Bruce Pearl...

BP is the best coach out of the 3 for sure. Football would survive w/o Fulmer, but w/o BP our basketball team is mediocre again.
:stop:.. While I would like to agree with you on your first point, I just can't.. Rite now you can't put Pearl next to Summit.. She has 6 titles close to a 1,000 wins with more on the way.. I agree with the other two.. But I'm sorry the proof is in the pudding when it comes Summit.ardon:
StunnA keeps it pimpin'..imp_2:
Pearl is definately comparable to Summit....IMO it is not very hard to win championships in women's basketball(not taking anything away from Summit, she is still a GREAT coach)....there are only about 10 good teams. The competition level in men's bball is MUCH higher, which is why it is not as easy to win.
The difference is Summit has built a resume at UT.. It's gonna take more than 2 good years for him to show how great a coach he can be for our University. While I think he will be an excellent coach down the line.. I just can't say Bruce is the better coach.. It's gonna take consistancy, in order to change my mind..:shades:

I agree with you somewhat, and I respect your opinion, but to me the most important coach is BP. I could live w/o women's basketball at Tennessee, but men's bball actually keeps me excited during the winter and spring. Losing BP would mean more to me than Summit.
