Fulmer out of Stokley---Quietly.

My god, you make it sound like he was doing charity work.

You didn't realize that Fulmer took no salary for coaching and his family spent their days tending to the critically ill at UT Medical Center?

Exactly. That's why I laugh at both sides of this debate. He was an employee that did a very good job for a while. He slipped up and was given a chance to fix it that he had earned by prior good work but he failed to correct the problem thus released accordingly. I don't like the idea of him getting 6 mil but I don't blame him for taking the cash. That was the fault of mgt.

True. But, the previous poster was trying to imply that all the players just LOVE CLK to death. Simply not true.

I think any player who goes through the rigors of getting ready for an playing football always has a deep respect for their football coach and for the efforts they make to get them ready to play. Fulmer was highly respected by many of his players andi am sure that Kiffin will be as well.

I think Fulmer closed up his office because Johnny is baaack and after a few swigs on the mason jar, Johnny may come huntin,,,,

He ran to the 'AA on Alabama to weaken a rival and curry favor with the Five 0, not because he's a great guy.

Isn't that what Bruce Pearl did to Illinois? Whats your thoughts on him?

I don't condone what either did, I think it s bit&$ move but its the same thing

I would love for Fulmer to go to Florida once CUM takes off. Obviously they wouldn't hire him, but that would be sweet. Ron Zook anyone???

I dont recall him acting in any manner in a disrespectrul way. If you have a link please post it.
Now some fans took things WAY out of context.

I don't have a link, but when he was an ESPN commentator, he stated that Marlon Brown would've stayed in-state if things were different... said it on national signing day. Also, he has said on at least 2 occasions that a university can't love you back and that it's just "brick and mortar"...

Or how about this. Maybe, just maybe he is like other coaches that get fired and don't talk to their replacements because there is no need? Just a guess

Other coaches usually aren't given an office and cushy job either. If he's going to be hanging around campus then common sense would tell you at some point he needs to meet with the new coach. To not do so speaks volumes.

word is, from a very credible source, that phil has already signed a contract to work with CBS for the upcoming season, though no formal announcement has been made it is a done deal

How do you know he hasn't? Also, who's to say that Kiffin shouldn't reach out to him?
