Fulmer mentions VolNation in post-game comments

He does look bad but as far as his health is concerned...he'd rather risk it by being stubborn and basically saying they'll have to pry this job out of my "cold dead hands" before i'll gracefully step down or walk away and that is his choice to put his health at risk by deciding that. Yes, he took us to the mountaintop and should be remembered well for that but each day he refuses to leave in honor is another day closer to it being ugly and disgraceful on both sides when he finally has to leave. It may not come as soon as some think but it is coming and at this point it has a good chance to be ugly!

He IS a good man and deserves to be remembered with honor and dignity. He has impacted young men's lives for the better in ways that go beyond a football field. I am seriously worried about him after watching that video, yet he talks about using the midnight oil. C'mon coach...your health is more important than a football record.

he makes 2.5 mil a year and has great health care program he will be fine in his retirement belive me...

After watching the video I truly feel bad for Fulmer. Not because I think he does not deserve the pressure, but the affect the STRESS IS HAVING ON HIM PHYSICALY. I think it would be best for him as well as the VOLS if he would step down..

I just have this to say to our Coach.
Coach Fulmer, there were some great years that we all will never forget. Exciting moments that have made us all lifelong, diehard fans, but sometimes you need to put the old bull out to pasture and bring in a young stud with some new tricks. I know that a lot of fans have really been riding you hard the last few years and asking for your removal and some of us have stayed loyal, but now it is time to go old bull. The stomping grounds that use to be yours are be taken over by new names and new offensive looks. Ask your old rival Spurrier, who we all love to hate, the SEC just ain't what it use to be. And that's part of the reason we love it so much and are proud to be a part of it because you never know what's going to happen. It's the SEC for godsakes, any team can give any team a loss unexpectedly. Look at Ole Miss, Two different teams from one week to the next. Back to my point though, times are changing, and Tennessee is stuck in the past. 11 Years is a long time, Shoot my son is in 3rd grade and we weren't even thinkin about kids when I was watchin Tennessee beat FSU. Coach you have done so much for this team and our community and have made a lot of money in the process. Do what you know is the right thing to do. Finish out this year strong will all of your heart in it like the old days and go out with a bang. I know for the ppl I can speak for that you would leave with more respect from us and pride for yourself than the what you are getting now. God bless you and your family and Thank you for all that you have done to raise the prestige of our team and at the same time raised our expectations. - Always proud and never booing, Mr. Tate ----GO VOLS!!!

Welcome to the board.

Empirical evidence seems to suggest that something about the name Jake causes one to write really long posts. :)

I don't care who you are...thats funny right there.:lolabove:

Fulmer hates us! woo! lol that was a really hateful "Idc what they are saying on Volnation"

Examples please? And it doesn't take much to be a better writer than John Adams.

Well, I don't want to brag (ow-- there goes another pair of pants up in smoke), but I posted a detailed, year by year breakdown of our ever-declining record against ranked teams since 1998 three days before Adams did the first article on the subject a couple of years ago...

Btw- I feel sorry for Fulmer too, but that doesn't change my anger at his obstinate refusal to recognize problems or accept responsibility for them. In fact, until this season, I opposed firing him, and kept impotently repeating that what we needed was a Fulmer who addressed rather than denied the pieces his coaching team was missing. As far as they go, he's obviously a very talented man who loves TN. This year I've just run out of patience for scapegoating and denial.

CPF is a good man he does not need this crap anymore. He looks worse than i have ever seen him.

I, for one, just hate to see him have to go through this. (any coach for that matter) Some coaches that have gone through more than Fulmer just don't seem to have the emotional involvment or care as much as CPF does. I take no relish or glee in this situation, and just hope he can lead the Vols out of this. We have the remaining schedule to make this happen.

The cycle of decline apparently was inevitable. Look at Miami, Nebraska, Michigan, Florida St., Alabama for gosh sakes. There's a part of me that thinks the classy thing to do is to let Coach Fulmer ride it out til the upswing comes.

If I'm piloting a billion $$ B-17 and irresponsibly destroy it ...I don't think the issue will be my "emotional involvement or care", but, rather my failure to navigate properly. The destruction of a great football program is tragic and unnecessary. It's time to deal with it!

yeah...that's one way to go.

Or.... you could see the trends, make a shrewd decision and attempt to get ahead of the curve by learning from those other teams' mistakes.
