He also said..." Lane never embraced the traditions WE have at Tennessee"......
Like laying down for Urban Meyer? He certainly embraced Prince Phillip's tradition of getting murdered by middle of the pack ACC teams in Atlanta.

Like when a player made a stupid mistake and lane got mad at him, Fulamanure was at home screaming, "YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO GET MAD, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO CLAP DAMMITT!"

Well...one of Phil's comments was "I don't know how he got the job in the first place. He has never done anything."

It should be easy to explain to Phil, Phil Look in the mirror and repeat after me "Kiffin got the job because I F___ed it up"; "If I hadn't of F___ed it up there wouldn't have been an opening" Duh?

As to Kiffin's selection, he may have left on a sour note but he didn't leave talent on the bench to rot away like you did, year after year.

No, I'm not sorry for those comments. At least Kiffin was paying attention to the program instead of eating Krispy Kreme out of house & home.

I know the answer to this Phil. It's because you got real content workin like heck as long as that didn't involve anything too hard such as a continued
effort at recruiting top notch talent.
Because you stopped making the same
efforts at this as you did in the beginning,
other members of your staff soon
followed in your footsteps. This includes
our well loved "Chief" who went from
being aggressive all the time to being the
third down prevent d king consistently
getting burnt in front and across the
Middle without attempting to adjust. Yes, Phil it was by your content at mediocrity that began your downfall into a vocal part of the fans calling for a change. So I would say that you are the reason he got hired. Congratulations.

I guess Krispy Kreme didn't go on to say, "but hey, he had done a lot more than me when I stabbed Johnny in the back to get the job."

I would have expected Phil to applaud Lane and all his contributions with his trademark

I definitely see what ur saying.... but kiffin didn't leave the program on a better note than I believe it was when fulmer left it. Sure we have more wins when Kiffin left but that's it... but look at all the negative images kiffin left us with. Many violations.... and now with this B. Brown situation who knows what's to come of that. Then you also had Coach O telling recruits who were committed to tennessee telling them not to sign the following day and to sign with USC....

My own opinion

I'm glad Fulmer isn't the Coach anymore, but I still really like the guy. I don't get some people in this fan base that go after him like they do. he does alot of charity work for North East Tennessee. the guy deserves better IMO.

Va Tech wasn't middle of the pack.

The Peach bowl gets the 2nd place ACC team every year. (first selection after the BCS).

It gets the 5th choice from the SEC.

By god did we get murdered though.
