Fulmer job status discussion (Merged)

It's not fair to compare Fulmer to Zook. Fulmer has won conference championships and a natty title. Think about this for a second. Name another conference with this many high profile coaches:

Phil Fulmer
Urban Meyer
Steve Spurrier
Mark Richt
*gag* Nick Saban
Tommy Tubberville

That's 6 high profile coaches, my friends. Fulmer's problem is NOT with his coaching, but rather his stubbornness to change his gameplan. Spurrier used to have that problem too. The SEC has changed so much the past 5 years, 10 years, etc. Fulmer needs to learn to adjust and he can be a monster in the SEC again.

None of those guys were coaching Cal last night. We face 4 of those coaches this season, though. We could easily reach 5 losses again...

Actually now that I think about it a little more, UT already is the equivalent of Zook years at Florida.

Ron Zook's record over three years: 23-12

Phil Fulmer's record last three years: 23-12

2004: 9-3
2005: 5-6
2006: 9-3

That's a fantastic 65.7% winning percentage.

...Bear Bryante::perkins/Curry/Stallings/Dubose/Franchione/Price/Shula/Saban.....

Darrell Royal::a cast of thousands/Mack Brown

John Robinson::a whole bunch of idiots/Pete Carroll

i.ow., change isn't necessarily better.

It's one game in a long season. chill.

If it were just this "one game in a long season" then no biggie. Howevva, when this season is another season in a decline of UT football, different story.

Ron Zook to Urban Meyer
Fill Fulmer to Bill Cowher

UT can get the checkbook out like the Bammers did and pay $4mill per. Offer it to The Chin. What's the worst that could happen, him saying no? Imagine, The Chin on The Hill...... I bet there wouldn't be any circus seal clapping on the sidelines then. The kids would have to wear visors to keep the spit out of their eyes when he grabbed their facemasks and chewed their azzes. Maybe ESPN has some extra camera shields they use when Granny Clampett is on making her predictions.

It's in 2001. Fulmer is working on a time machine so he can go get it.
Will the time machine be powered by magic dust? Will it be fortified against Perfect Storms? Will it be equipped with machines for watching "the film," so Fulmer will be able to discern what excuse to use in a given week?

He's working like heck on all those features.

Accept mediocrity and hope Bruce Pearl gets it done. I think keeping Fulmer is more about not F-ing up a money making machine, than winning championships.

a money making machine would be a coach who had the ability to take us to a bcs bowl again. i hear those bowls pay generously.

What about Sylvia Brown? She can summon the spirit of General Neyland and he can coach us again.

I think he's more worried about keeping his job then he is about being underpaid.

Ummm.....errrrr....if this is true then that would make him a bad coach in my book. But that's just me.
