I am not a Jonathon Crompton fan. I expected much more from him this season and seriously doubt that he has the capability to lead the Orange.
But, Coach Fulmer is not presenting the situation at the end of the 2nd quarter accurately when he said that Crompton missed a signal. At the end of the preceeding play, Crompton was facing the sideline and looked to be pleading for a play. I was sitting in X5 and my daughter and I was looking straight across the field at all of the coaches on the sideline and no one was flashing a signal. Fulmer was standing with his arms crossed and finally saw Crompton and his pleading and finally called a timeout. My daughter saw the same thing and asked me why the sidelines was not paying attention to Crompton as the clock was winding down. Crompton was directly between us and the coaches on the sideline and no one was paying attention to him until Fulmer finally noticed him flailing his arms and pleading.
I do not know what the miscommunication was, but it was not Crompton missing a signal. It never came.
