Fulmer is still in a "painful state"

I think DD's first 3 years will be more like Johhny's than Battle or Phil's...

I agree his numbers won't be as good as Phil's or Battle's the first three years, but I think they will be a little bit better than Johnny's. Johnny only had 16 wins his first three years. I'm thinking more along the lines of 21 to 23wins for Dooley.

The way I see it....Fulmer owes me a rebate on good money spent for home games sitting in the pouring rain getting our butts handed to us by Florida. He also owes me compensation for being heckled by FLA fans leaving Neyland stadium. I'm so glad hugs and kisses has left the building!!!!

Worst heckling I ever got was when I took a wrong turn out of the GA Dome and wound up among the LSU congregation the night Mauck (or whoever the backup QB was) got us... :finger3:

I wasn't necessarily talking about you boy:p
Just trying to have a rare good discussion on here.

I get what you're saying about "what could have been".
But at the same time, what we had was pretty darn good. Hell we would kill for that now.

For the record...I thought it was his time to go also. Although, I wasn't completely happy about it.

Ahh, I knew you weren't. Just hard to pass up a shot at a Godfather quote:dance2:

"Fulmer still in painful state"......heck, I'm in a painful state....give me a refund for sittin in the rain and being heckled.

I don't have the records handy, but I believe the last four years of Fulmer had more losses than any other four year period or it might have been second. Of course more games are played now than in years prior to 1970, still that isn't a good record to have.

It's been a long time. Last time we had more losses in a 4 yr span was 77-80 (23) vs 05-08 (21)

I see rationale is not your strong suit. Thanks for playing.
You're kidding yourself if you think a year and another coaching transition later,we're not in worse shape. It's not a comment on CDD, it's just reality.

Maybe rationale is not one of HIS strong suits.:)

I didn't say that. That was more directed towards he used absolutely nothing to back up his point.

Will always be amazed at the amount of hate he gets...everyone hits a peak in their lives, he didn't sustain success like many thought he should have.

With the good comes the bad, if you celebrate his achievements then you should understand and accept his failures.

People who are absolutely clueless will say the game passed him by, you have no clue what you are talking about. the guy could forget more about football then anyone who frequents this site will ever know.

A bunch of Monday morning QB's who would crack under the pressure if ever given the chance.

I'm sure I will get grilled for this but I don't care, some of you need to get a grip. Form your own opinion and stop jumping the Phil is a moron bandwagon.

the funny thing about people mentioning florida people missing fulmer is the fact that i don't know how many years it will be before tennessee beats florida without fulmer either.

Since you are interested in history, UT has won at least 2 SEC Championships every decade since joining the conference in the 1930’s with the exception of the 70's and 1 other decade. Care to guess which decade and who the Coach was?

Fulmer also holds the record for the 2nd most loses in UT history.

While that sounds good for your argument you and I both know that it is deceptive.

Of the 22 coach's UT has had, only 8 have coached for 5or more seasons. Only 3 of that eight had more than 8 seasons. So your saying of the 3 that you can actually compare Fulmer to, he has the second most losses. Neyland, Fulmer and Majors.

The 07 and 08 beat downs were enough to realize a change needed to be made before we could progress toward beating UF again.

i agree the change needed to be made.

i'm just saying that there isn't a florida fan worried about the streak ending anytime soon even though fulmer is no longer the coach.

That kind of good sense isn't welcome amongst the "we hate Fulmer" clan.

I agree with you. Now go back to getting eaten by swamp pythons.
