Fulmer is not greater than the program

How long has Hamilton been gone? At this point, blaming him for issues happening right now is akin to blaming Jimmy Carter for problems Trump or Obama faced.
I know that I ain't dumb, I was just saying that if they'd got it rite the 1st time we wouldn't be here!!!

Actually I blame Hamilton for this mess, the same Hamilton that didn't have a plan before he fired Phil. Not sayin he shouldn't have been replaced but the AD n decision makers who decided to make a change should've had all their ducks lined up before he was fired. At that point you can't tell me someone better than Kiffin wouldn't have taken the job. And I'm not saying Kiffin wouldn't have done better had he stayed but we shouldn't have hired a 1st time head coach at that point.
Who backed Hamilton for the AD job?
Buzz Peterson
Pat Summit
Phil Fulmer.

Enough said.

I'm pretty sure hiring Dave Clawson is what got Philip Fulmer fired - that and seeing Norm Chow wink at the camera about Tennessee's fourth quarter defense. And Urban Meyer. Oh, and definitely Nick Saban. Nick Saban gets practically everyone fired. I don't think anything else really sealed the deal as much as those things.
Clawson has been successful everywhere he's been except for his one year here under Fulmer. Fulmer got himself fired

Once he got that ring, Fulmer was, is, and always will be about Fulmer, period.

Tennessee is a cash flow to him.

Only recently have I really seen the light on Fulmer. That pathetic appearance on VC last week sealed it.

Fulmer’s blood runs currency green. Nothing more. And he isn’t going to do ANYTHiNG to shorten his tenure as AD. He probably figures he has 2-3 years he can ride this out with JP. That’s around 4 milly with bonuses. Nothing will stop that cash flow. NOTHING.

Hes been loyal and is one if the faces of this University.... Accept that Pruitt is not working or showing signs and make another hire... Fulmer done the best he could in the situation it just hasn't worked... He has the ability and will praised for making another hire!
But then he gave the guy an extension when there was no real reason to do so....so there’s that.

I don’t want Fulmer fired I just him to fire Pruitt and hire a capable replacement. Show a sense of urgency to get it fixed. We need an overhaul.
I’m not sure a quality coach would want to be at Tennessee or any SEC school that is free falling. Fan bases need wins and improvement. Each go around we get Mike Gundy a raise and lick all over John Gruden. Assistants do well taking over established winning teams. Tennessee has good poorly developed talent that is in desperate need of head coach.

I agree. We need a proven program builder, but timing is key. Our administration doesn’t understand this. We fire coaches at the wrong times. Next season won’t be as kind to us as this season. The move should be made now.

Hamilton did have a plan before he fired Fulmer, it backfired on him and after that he was a drowning man.

Tried to tell the Fulmer lovers that when he got hired. Oh well. Glad someone else is finally getting it.

Just showed Phillip sitting alone in the stands, it must be lonely at the top. I’ve always supported Phillip I can think of no one that has more loyalty and love for the University. In some ways I think Phillip knows he’s between a rock and a hard place money issues, Covid and a radical fanbase are all things he’s juggling. But no matter what his feelings are, or how he wants to support his hires he is not greater than the program. This is exactly what got him in trouble the first time he was fired from the University, you hang on too long when action is required.
Agreed. He should follow his instincts and take the reigns of the program himself. And then woe betide Alabama et al, for then they will truly be lost.

I take umbrage with your comments sir!! He has bled in the mud for this program, which is more than most can say. His love for this university is as boundless as the depths of the sea.

Think he would keep showing up for work if his paychecks stopped? That is love.

If he's given an opportunity to operate unencumbered, he will no doubt return this program to the halcyon heights with which UT fans were formerly so well acquainted.

Well, he’s been unencumbered thus far pretty much. He has a horseshit football head coach and he doesn’t speak to his basketball head coach. Not exactly the path to halcyon heights.
