Fulmer interested in UConn?

That's why I'm curious about the money at UConn, especially for assistants.

Well this might have something to do with it, might not...from UConn Scout Board...Less than Edsall, soooo they're happy...lol

Five-year contract beginning today, ending Dec. 31, 2015. The total compensation this year is $1.5 million and escalates by $100,000 each year to $1.9 million in 2015. There are no state tax dollars used to fund the contract. Pasqualoni gets a car allowance at $15,000, can run his own camps on campus in the summer, is allowed to have an endorsement contract provided it's certified by the state's ethics committee and will get 20 tickets to each game, with up to 20 more.

I don't think he really put it in the hat, I would say his people floated it out to keep it out to make it look like he was in demand. I don't see any way he wouldn't get that job if he wanted it. I do think Louisville passed him up but I can't believe for a second that UConn did

Float it out yet again to be rejected yet again "to make it look like he was in demand".

That is like saying a guy who expresses interest in numerous girls over several years and gets constantly rejected, makes it seem like he is in demand.

That makes no sense.

If Phil had interest in the UConn job he gets it over PP period . Phil's name was out there because UConn was interested in him. Doubt he had any real interest in UConn . No way UConn hire PP over Phil . Phil is and always has been a better coach than PP . No troll , no homer post , just the way it is .

Not really.

Fulmer shows UConn interest

Report: Fulmer interested in UConn job

Fulmer is a Legend in his mind and in the mind of a few UT fans. Most recognize his coaching abilities as mediocre.

What I mean is his people would float it out then he would say it "isn't the right fit", making it looked like he was approached and turned it down. Makes perfect sense

Ok, so you are saying it isn't possible that Fulmer's people express interest on his behalf(which Desmond Conner said happened), then when UConn reciprocates interest, he could say "no thanks"....making him look like he was in demand. I don't understand how someone couldn't get that. It is widely thought this has happened with Fulmer before, or he throws hat in ring and hears the team isn't interest and then says "not right fit". Coaches pull it all the time, it keeps their name in discussions because fbrumormill, espn, etc repeat it and never cite a source, just like the Chaney rumors.

Pasqualoni is a northeast guy from CT, he's a cultural fit. I don't thik CPF would have adjusted well, and he and the school recognized that.

Agree, I was trying to say that last night. You put it better than I did. Cultural fit is good way to put it.I am not sure how interested Fulmer was, who knows?

You know what? I haven't slept in 40 hours, my wife is on brink of labor with 3rd child, and I realize I don't have a clue what I am saying right now. Can't even keep thoughts straight and noticing my posts are becoming incoherent. Sorry bout that! Haha. Need sleep

More important than sleep you need to figure out what's causing...

J/K Congrats you'd better go get some rest, you wont get a lot anytime soon.

Haha! I think I figured it out. Sleep will be hard to come by these days and will be for a while, all worth it though. The first 2 are girls so hopefully this boy can be my contribution to the 2029 recruiting class

Don't pawn it off on his people. He has been the one quoted in numerous interviews expressing interest in numerous openings.

Do we continue to pay him if he gets another job?

Sure do. We owe him money, regardless of whether or not he's employed by a university.

Pretty sure that's wrong crusse. We would only pay him the difference between what he is making at his new job and what we owe him. If he is making more per year on his new job than what we owe him, we pay him nothing.

Wrong. Phil's name was out there because he specifically stated that he was interested in the job. UConn wasn't interested in him.

True, I should have said "his people" for UConn. He hasn't been quoted about UConn, Conner said "his people" reached out. Thanks for catching that. He indeed was vocal about other jobs. My bad
