CPF has offered to fill in temporarily to steady the ship.

I totally thought it was time for Fulmer to go, and I cringe when folks suggest bringing him back. If his ego would really let take it on a very temporary basis, I would be okay with it.

Thoughts?

I was all Kiffin......but Fulmer is a Tennessee Guy, maybe its time to say, "the grass isnt greener" welcome him back and let him spend some money to get a staff....seemed like money was off limits for Phil but an open pocket for Lane and Crew.

MH just said in his press conference that he could not see a scenario where PF would be considered for the job.

Fulmer is a good dude offering that...Phillip loves UT even after he was fired Phillip loves UT...Quit giving this guy a hard time. Phillip knows he is not going to coach again...he is just lending his support in a difficult time. Maybe its also a dig at hamilton haha! Hamilton was pressured by big boosters. Hamilton wouldn't have had the balls to fire Fulmer alone anyway.

I'd rather have Cutcliffe or Kippy than Fulmer coming back. Don't want him at AD either. NO!

I agree 100 percent. yeah it sucks right now but if we go back to Fulmer we would be the laughing stock of the nation. it didnt work out but it definitely was the right decision to move on to somebody new and we can not go back now. No way Hamilton does that.

Hamilton needs to tell fulmer to butt out--he's already done enough damage to the program.

This story is not true.

I once dated a girl who's father was a caretaker - of the National Cemetary in Chattanooga. Phildo could maybe handle that job! Caretaker of the Vol FB team! Hell no!

I don't know about everyone else but I myself want a coach that is dedicated to our program and not going to jump ship at the first offer. PF is a dedicated man to the University and always will be. Sometimes people get burned out and lose sight of things and maybe that is what happened to him. He wasn't given a big bank roll for coaches like Kiffin was, to hire a staff that he needed.... One man doesn't make a staff and Kiffin wouldn't have done anything with the staff PF had. That said, I would rather have PF as Mike Hamilton anyday as our AD. And if CPF was brought back to coach I would embrace that..... With a really good staff I wonder what he could do?

And an article on ESPN wrote this, "Meanwhile, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com's Gene Wojciechowski that several members of Tennessee's Board of Trustees have contacted former Vols coach Phil Fulmer about the possibility of becoming either athletic director or even football coach, though the source said he could not fill both roles. Fulmer was receptive to those inquiries, the source said."

That was because The Fired Coach didn't make hiring top-notch assistants a priority. Not Hamilton's fault there.

152-52 - Seems like Kiffin isn't the only one who needs to pull out a dictionary and look up the word "loyalty." From the way this board acts who would want to coach in Knoxville.
