Fulmer has contacted Tee Martin (Feldman)

I don't know how this is going to turn out, but I really hope that we find a way to bring Tee Martin back to Tennessee. The most important thing is to establish long-term success and stability . . . it seems like Tee would help with this, regardless of the position for which he is hired.

I'm I the only one that sees Tee Martin not a winning coach even if you gave him 10 years. They claim he is OC for USC, but someone else calls the play when it's 3rd down. Why? If true, why would we want him? We are losing recruits faster each day and one of the reasons is we don't have a quality coach. One who draws recruits too. Plus the reports that Fulmer wants a coach that will allow him to be the closet coach. Again, do we have the real talent folks say we have or, are they just injured? I'm dumbfounded by all of this. Where's the Tylenol!

Tee is OC in title only. Helton calls majority of plays and probably develops the game plan.

Please quit comparing Tee to Kirby Smart.
1) Smart WAS DC under Saban and coached the defense. Very clear watching bama play. He was DC for several yrs.
2) Smart inherited a program that was averaging 9 wins a season under Richt with a lot of talented players on campus. New coach at Tennessee isn't going to have that luxury.

You know this how...

The Wonderlic Test is not just some BS NFL combine test. It has been administered millions of times across a broad range of industries, and meets all professionally accepted standards of validity and reliability.

Twitter

No Ivy league degree, but 20 years of experience in the development and administration of similarly valid testing instruments in state and local governments, healthcare, and insurance industries.

He was able to run an offense and carried an awful high completion percentage, not really worried about some BS test. He is more than capable of organizing our team and recruiting the players we need.

Hiring one of our own was always the best option IMO. The fanbase didn't become somewhat united until Fulmer became AD, and to a certain extent, will have trouble uniting around any outside candidates. Tee at this point in time seems like the best option to have the most people on board.

HCs are made not born. Everybody has to start somewhere and it's usually at the bottom. Then you work and earn your way up. Just sayin'.

I hope it's for OC. Venables is probably best Coord to HC hire. I wouldn't hire Steele to be a waterboy. I was hoping I would come on here and see a hire was done.

Have heard that Tennessee still hasn't made contact w/ #USC OC Tee Martin. Kinda shocked that UT hasn’t at least inquired abt his interest/vision. He led UT to a national title; developed lots of NFL talent at UK & USC and just helped lead Trojans to a Pac-12 title as their OC.

The timing of Fulmer contacting Tee seems like it is in regards to him coming back as an OC, coach-in-waiting kind of position. Based on what we are hearing about Miles, if he is truly out, Fulmer may be weighing a Steele/Martin combo. Possibly a Venables/Martin combo as well. But Venables is younger and the appeal for Tee coming home and coaching under another young coach may not be appealing to him. Coming home and coaching under an older coach like Steele may be more appealing.

In fairness to Steele, nobody could win at Baylor back then.

Fulmer needs to stop listening to the twitter VFL crowd and go after a big name hire.

I suspect the problem is that he is trying to make a place for some VFL's to pacify folks and the big names are not having any part of that.

I'm really starting to get the feeling like UT football is going to be in purgatory for a long time ; and it will be because of our own fans. There's no way everybody can be pleased.

Now this is back to the tree falling in the woods. Did it make noise when it fell if no one was there to report on the falling? I wonder how many millions of things did or didn't happen every day because there wasn't a "reporter" around to pass the fact or rumor along.

Have we become such a sad society that many people can't observe an event or no event or have a thought or no thought without someone of "celebrity" status to prompt, verify, or vindicate? No wonder nose rings are becoming popular.

Good grief. This is Phil's 4th full day on the job and there are several very good candidates on the market. Fulmer would be a fool to only consider Tee.

If we have a coach by the 10th, everything will be fine. Slow your roll, people.

You can actually meet a lot of people face to face more efficiently at a little gathering of coaches in NY than you can flying around the country to meet them one at a time - at least until we perfect time travel. Apparently that is lost on a lot of people.

Tee graduated with a 2.8 GPA from the University of Tennessee.

LOL. Does the tree have to hit you in the head to make the connection?

Tee was their CO-OC or is that TRI-OC since three coaches called the plays.

I'm a fairly smart guy and took the practice test for fun.

Noticed 2 things.

Most of the questions had nothing to do with intelligence. I am a really well read guy so it was fairly easy to me. But i can see a guy with a normal reading level missing a lot of the word association questions.

perfect example would be legend and Key
are these words similar
contradictory
or unrelated

Most people would get that one wrong because they do not associate the words legend and key with the usages the test wanted u to get. (the map legend/key)

I know a lot of high IQ people that would struggle on that test. I also know some fairly average folks that would do quite well.

The test is about making a choice fast. Worry less about your answer to each question and just get as many right as u can. The math questions specifically could kill a completionist type because bad at math or not they would waste too much time trying to figure hose out.

FYI I got a 40 because I flat out skipped any math question I had to think more than 20 seconds on or reach for a calculator.

If a person if fairly well read and skips most of the math questions its easy to score high.

That being said I see the point of the test and its quite valid. You need people that can make fast "correct" choices quickly. The time part is the only hard part of the test the questions are all fairly easy if you gave people 20 mins to do it instead of 12 theys make much much higher scores.
