Fulmer for interim

Why not? Because there are more than enough coaches already on staff who could fill in as the interim. No need to bring back the guy who started the mess.

I'm for it for one reason. I don't want us to do like LSU did with Orgeron and make a bad hire based on a few games. If Larry Scott is the interim coach and goes, say 3-1 or 4-0 I could absolutely see us hiring him full time.

I don't think that happens with CPF. I think everyone would realize he would just be head coach for show essentially.

There’s a zero percent chance, no matter how successful that Larry Scott was as the interim, that he’d be the next head coach at UT.

I hope you're right, but looking at our last 2 hires it would not surprise me at all if it did happen.

Hoke would likely take over as interim if Butch gets fired mid season. I may be jaded from past AD decisions but I don't see us firing Butch until the end of the year if not mid season next year should the team underperform.

I don't see what the big deal would be in putting him as intern coach. We need that old school mentality that we had.

I wouldn't be opposed to Fulmer stepping in on a interim basis if we have a new coach hired already. A top caliber coach will not want to come in mid season.
