The College Football Hall of Fame coach also told a great story about what it was like having his daughter on the sideline as a “ballgirl”. And, a funny run in with a gas station attendant back in the day made the crowd smile.

CPF Video

A really funny video thats worth the watch.

Sounds like something Majors would do... But, he wouldn't have tried to be funny about it.

I think in the end they both understand that high program expectations means that your on a fairly short leash and more than one bad year in a decade won't cut it. Not beating your biggest rivals won't cut it either. Butch seems to get the message as well.

I'm still a little mad Fulmer was never given a shot at AD and we got Currie.

Well, you can stay a little mad. I will stay very relieved.

I noticed Fulmer pointed out one difference between him and Kiffin. Kiffin does not miss coaching.

Sorry, but Phil's picture is not on the same wall in my home with Jesus and Elvis.

Too bad he didn't have any jokes about Kiffen's ex and her hospitality towards recruits.

Always said (usually when discussing Phil vs. Stevieboy), I'd rather lose with class than win with trash.

Phil wouldn't take a shot like that. If I heard the tape correctly (and might not have), his comment could even be taken as a gentle gibe at himself.:)

In a few years, if Currie does well, you may be glad that Fulmer didn't get the job.

And if he pinches pennies because he's tight by nature, instead of being truly competitive?

Rhetorical, I've been hearing the answer for the last 8 years. That greener grass, everyone promised, is just around the corner....

"seriously, this time".

I'm not, I love CPF and think he was a amazing coach, but a great coach does not make a great AD.

In your opinion, what makes a great AD? For anyone never having been given the opportunity to become an AD, what would be a good path to pursue to have that opportunity?
