He won a Big10 Championship in 2005 and looks good so far this year.

We are on a 10 year drought and things look bleak.

Joe Pa is little more than a figurehead at PSU. Same for Bowden at FSU. Both of them are trying to set the mark for most wins as an FBS coach. "Ego over all else". Times two.

We have a similar situation in Knoxville. Fulmer chasing the General's record. Problem is, unlike Joe Pa, Fulmer isn't wise enough to (a) hire the right coordinators, and (b) leave them alone. Seriously, you think Joe Pa invented the PSU HD offense? You think he wrote that play book?

Get real. If you're going to compare Joe Pa to Phil, at least mention the fact that Joe Pa has owned Phil in head-to-head match ups.

Same as Spurrier, Meyer, and Richt, to name a few.

Oh...of all people..so did Lou Holtz.

This ain't about Joe Pa. This is about Phil Fulmer. Look at his SEC record over the past 3 seasons. We're paying 2.5 million dollars a year for a near .500 record against conference opponents.

PSU figured out how to win despite Joe Pa. UT can't figure out how to win with Fulmer.

Sorry...no comparison.

Go back and look at PSU record from 2000- 2004..
'02 was the only winning year in a 5 year span
and he was facing the same criticism Fulmer is right now

I honestly don't see your point, other than that both Paterno and Fulmer should have retired some time back. Paterno has won a BCS bowl this century, something that has eluded Fulmer. Phil has an impressive winning percentage, though dwindling, but very, very few championships.

If you're okay with "one winning record in a five year span", then Vandy would love to have you as a season ticket holder.

This is UT. Well, it used to be.

You and I clearly have different expectations, and a completely different perspective, of what constitutes "UT Football".

Unfortunately for me, seems thing to be going your way this year.

Bama was already busted for the violation and fulmer stuck his nose in it. Fulmer lost valuable recruits and countless hours through the legal system. That hurt the program to this day.

You dont think there is correlation with the bad recruiting and lack of talent since he decided to meddle? What recruit would want to play for a meddling snitch. I think you know the answer based on the last 7 years.

Since i work with law enforcement, i do not have a problem ending a drug dealers way of life. If i were a drug dealer i would not snitch. I dont want to look over my back the rest of my life.

I'm trying to compare the situtaion/criticsm Joe Pa faced a few years ago with what Phil's going thorugh now.

and How Joe Pa, persevered,

look at Penn State now, undeated ranked #3, and given remaining schedules has the best shot at staying unbeaten

The fact you continue to act as if Fulmer deserves the same treatment as one of the 5 best coaches in the history of the sport tells us where you are at in this debate. Now, go find a way to blame Dave Clawson for the fact Lardarse Phool didn't win an SEC title in the 9 years before Clawson got here.
