Fulmer deemed the situation "fixable."

Guys, no team in the country has all their problems fixed before the season. You dont know what is wrong with your team until you actually play a game. Everyone around the country has problems, even USC, UGA and Florida. The only difference we have between those teams is that we actually go away from our home field on the other side of the country for our first game and our problems turn into a loss to a program with great tradition, pride and nothing to lose, three things you should never underestimate no matter how many of their players get hurt
USCw sure struggled this past weekend when they had to fly acorss the country to play a BCS team.

We lost to a california team that played in the sun bowl last year to start the season by two scores

Got kicked around by Florida a little bit (okay, a lotta bit)

AND THEN

won the SEC east and were a rare ainge error away from going on to win the Sugar Bowl

good lord...
hopefully our football team doesn't quit like a lot of y'all
They did. Florida and Alabama last year. Why should we expect any different this year? Don't like that mentality? Well until it is proven otherwise, it will be that way.

Or maybe I am just still recovering from the trip to LA and having TSA agents talking trash to me at 4am the morning after the game at LAX and how the SEC doesn't have the speed to keep up with the Pac10 and how the SEC gets media bias..........Fulmer not only let Tennessee fans down, but SEC fans as well. I was absolutely embarrassed after that game even though most of the UCLA fans were cordial about it.

Sorry for the rant.

By the way we played and coached this last game, it will be another year waiting on Georgia and Florida to lose two SEC games so we can win our own division. We hardly ever control our own destiny, but Florida does it most of the time. Florida takes care of their business and we do not. I'm not sure about Clawson and the new ones yet, but the rest of our coaches are lame. Workin like heck and seeing Fulmer clap his hands on the sideline are things that I could totally live without! Our team plays emotionless because Fulmer is emotionless!

This is exactly right. We have to hope that Georgia or Florida screws up. We need a head coach that instills respect and fear in his players. Not one who pats the players on the butt when they mess up. Fulmer has no passion.

I am not sure how much they showed on TV but the amount of passion Rick had during and especially after the game was awesome to see. He got up and spoke to the crowd on the PA system/jumbotron like a presidential candidate. It was refreshing to see. Too bad it didn't come from our sideline.

I'm afraid the UCLA fans would not have given Fulmer the same positive feedback after addressing them had we won.

Are these 2 related? I guess the other guy could institute change.

He said it was "fixable", but I didn't see any mention of his resignation. That must be a story for later in the week.

At least we got some kudos...

The 11-day layoff is probably a very good thing for a program that will surely go from being ranked No. 18 to unranked while it sorts out issues in every facet of the game. Then again, the time off also will give VolNation ample time to dissect what has to be one of the more nauseating losses in recent UT history.

:)
