If he would actually taken the time, and hired a worthy Offensive Coordinator.Instead He hired a no name, quick fix, coordinator(Dave Clawson).Even though Cutcliffe wasn't a bad hire we knew he wouldn't stay.Heck he even told Phil he wouldn't stay when he was first hired.I believe Phil didn't want to hire a good OC because he was scared he would lose his job if his OC had great success. For example what happened to Johnny Majors, say Fulmer couldn't make it to coach a few games and the OC became the interim coach and some key games, Phil was probably scared of possibly getting fired, hence the reason why he didn't hire a good OC.As you can see it came back to bite him.

Sorry if this is hard to hard to read.

Yeah the problems with recruiting, the offensive live, special teams and defense are all Clawson's fault.....

I think you mean offensive line, and yes I understand We had a bad offensive line coach, but Im gonna have to disagree with you on defense we had a stellar defense this year.

1. Search is your friend.

2. You're own thoughts ought to tell you Fulmer failed when Cut wasn't around. Sanders & Clawson are both fall guys for the big guy with the HEADSET on on the sidelines WHO ADMITTED TO CHANGING CLASWSON'S CALLS 30% OF THE TIME THIS YEAR!

I am glad that you approve of the safeties playing 25 yards behind the line of scrimmage because Chavis is scared to get beat deep.

I know Fulmer changed up the plays, Ive wanted a coaching change for so long, but I thought if he hired a good OC maybe he would still have a job.

Correct and the offensive "live", special teams and the safeties playing 25 yards behind the line of scrimmage would be intact. Which equals 8 wins a year, yeah!

If he hired Peyton Manning it wouldn't matter if he was changing the plays....he'd still be fired for screwing things up himself.

What you should be asking IMO is "if Fulmer left Dave Clawson and his staff alone and let them coach would he still have a job?" :good!:

No. he meant live. That line execution blended with the leadership and teachings of Adkins..their pretty much dead.:birgits_giggle:

Other than the fact that we can not stop anyone on 3rd and short, or 3rd and long, or 3rd and anything.

IMO if CPF 3 years ago had deleted the TE coach position, put the TE's blocking assignment responsibilities with a good oline coach, and put the TE's routes with the WR's coach..hired a top special teams mind and a top Oline coach not only would he still have a job, even with that '05 recruiting class we'dve likely seen more BCS threads.

Somebody please explain stellar defense are we 3-7

Our Defense is the only thing thats keeping us in games.Have you even watched any of Tennessee games this year. Its the offense that sucks. We can't produce any yardage or points on offense.

Um no? I dont think Clawson a coach that came from UTCs league could do better than Fulmer. I mean I understand how much you dont like him but some comments are just stupid. Clawson is the reason why Fulmer is getting fired. He went to the SEC Championship last year so if he would have had a winning record I think he would have got to stay. Why does he not have a winning record? Our Offense! Who is the Offensive Coordinatior? Not Fulmer..Clawson.

Yeah if wouldnt for our stellar defense we would be 2-7 if I recall the Mississippi State game right.

I have a hard time calling the following Defensive stats stellar.

2008 SEC Team Statistics – Rankings (12 teams)
Scoring Defense - 5th
Total Defense – 3rd
Rushing Defense – 7th
Pass Defense – 3rd
Pass Defense Efficiency – 5th
Sacks By – 11th
Opponents 1st Downs – tied for 8th with Ole Miss.
Opponents 3rd Down Conversion – 11th
Opponents 4th Down Conversion – 6th
Red Zone Defense – 5th

Well I didn't exactly mean stellar I meant more along the lines of decent.Put it this way if we had a good O-line, Offense, and atleast decent Defense we could have competed.

:nono:I think if we had a offense that didnt keep our defense out on the field for four quarters then those stats would be better. Our defense has been the only part of UT Football that has got me excited this year. Our defense was the first team to make Alabama's offense play the 2nd half. Every other game they had a big lead on everyone else but not our STELLAR defense led by the one & only Eric Berry!
