Fulmer comments on Team 120

Coach Fulmer has a great football mind. His ability to evaluate should not be questioned. I think his short comings are the same that a lot of us (notice "us") are suffering with. Not being able to or wanting to keep up with all the new ways of our youth. To simplify, what I am trying to say, we don't care for or just really don't want to try to keep up socially with what drives the youth of these times. Our times are slowly fading away...

Yup. Can't really see CPF spending a lot of time on Twitter. Old school football coaches are a dying breed, I'm gonna miss 'em.

Good article and read, I enjoyed it and I believe Coach Fulmer understands what a top ten team is and what it takes to be one. So yes, I agree wholeheartedly with what he had to say within it.

Ive been dreaming of this season for weeks now and my anxiety is at an all time high in anticipation for the season. I cannot wait to take care of UF and Alabama(twice) like UT is known to do. We own these teams. I can't focus on work or macros, its all about Tennessee all the time, and it sure feels good knowing the natty is likely coming back to Knoxville. I have so much energy built up that i will unleash September 24th in Neyland. Fulmer owned Alabama like so many before him. Clausen owned UF and i will always view them as inferior to UT. i can't wait to hear "it's football time in Tennessee" right before kick off.

Me too. Personally hope he's the next AD when Hart steps aside.

I don't think he'd do well at the job. There's more to it than loving the school. It's a hardcore business and you need a little of that mindset. I think our next ideal AD is in training at UTC.

Fulmer will always have my respect. He took UT to some really dominate times and he catches alot of flack for Florida but the majority of teams got skulldrug by the gators during those times, not just UT. 152-52, pulling both Chief and Cut on his staff, OWNING bama, you damn right i respect his opinion about how good/bad a team looks. He is great at evaluating players so he knows what he is talking about.

Since he is also "the closer" we need to get him on the recruiting staff to help close this class with some studs. Maybe even spend the night in a recruits driveway again if need be.

Agree. I have so much respect for Coach Fulmer and share his love of UT. But I'm not sure he has the mindset andtemperament to be an effective AD in today's world. 20 years ago he would've been perfect. But not in today's climate.
