I haven't been able to get past this thing with Meyer crying and it being reported so widely.

I just can't imagine a HEAD COACH in the SEC crying because he was so emotionally moved by a loss.

Now, if he lost a player in an accident or something, that's a horse of another color.

But crying about a loss?

Now I want our coaches to take the game seriously, but I'd like to think they're going to act like men and take it like a man.

If I were a Florida fan right now, I'd be embarrassed over it. I've noticed they're trying to spin it, saying, "He's really into being a Gator and we like that." But I can't help believe that in their heart, they are embarrased too.

I recall a game I played in once, we lost 20/22 and we were stopped on the goal line on the last play of the game. It was tough. As I entered the dressing room there were a couple of guys with their heads in their hands and they were crying. I understood. To be honest, I was about ready to break down and cry when one of our captains came in, saw what these two guys were doing, and he got down in their faces and he said, "I don't want to see any tears. (Expletive deleted) you girls had a chance to win this game and you laid your candy a$$es down. (He could say this and get by with it. He was a monster. He played nose tackle on defense and he was a real head hunter on every play.) He began to go all over the dressing room telling everybody that if he saw anybody else crying he was going to whup thier butts. But he didn't say butts.

That really made an impact on me. When he got through throwing benches and tables, I made up my mind right then and there that no matter how many losses I played in I'd never shed a tear over one.

I'd like to hear your views on Head Coaches crying in public over a loss.

Be better than listening how great the opponent was. That is all I ever hear," We really have to give the ----- team credit. They really took us out of what we wanted to do." Puh-leeease Phil, no moreof this. Admit it when we get our a*$ whipped or out coached.( outcoached 80% of all games)

Urban Crier and The Ole Bawl Coach are my favorite two nicknames for him now.

My favorite is the Ole Bawl Coach.

I think we have to give the Tennessean credit for it. I couldn't find the headline in the web site, but on their hard copy of this story

http://tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/articl.../510160434/1034

the sub-title refered to The Ole Bawl Coach.

I couldn't believe they said that in the Tennessean. Usually Biddle has his head stuck so far up Florida's .. uhm, he likes Florida. I'm surprised he let that pass.

The Ole Bawl Coach.

That's a classic.

"Joseph Addai ran for a career-high 156 yards and a touchdown"

DAMNIT! If only we would have RAN THE BALL! Urban would have cried a whole hell of a lot sooner.

I have a feeling he'll shed a lot of tears over us if he stays at Florida.

I can't ever remember a game we've played that I'd like to have back more than that one.

We should have won that game. We just had NO offense.

Just a mediocre effort on O would have been enough. We got zip.

Say what you want about the tears, but it would be kind of nice to see our coaching staff emotionally-moved by a defeat once in a while, too. I'm not saying anyone has to cry (not that I'd care if they did), but letting us know that it means as much or more to them as it does to us would bring a little comfort. . . .and a little hope that maybe the team wouldn't make the same mistakes again.

Well, in that case:

We should have handled UAB.

We should have beaten Florida.

We should have not had to stage a miraculous comeback to beat LSU.

We should have blown out Ole Miss.

We should have at least played Georgia close.

We should have a running back with yardage near or at the top of the SEC.

We should have solved the "QB controversy" 2 months ago.

We should have a solid Offensive Line.

We should have solid special teams.

We should have been able to avoid stupid, careless penalties.

We should have receivers that can catch (as the name implies).

We should have made sure the punter doesn't get baited into a fake punt in our own territory.

We should have thrown the ball at least 12 yards on 3rd and 12.

We should have run the ball when the run was working.

We should have passed deep when the defense played tight.

Point is, we didn't. And from the looks of our team thus far, I wouldn't count ANY week as a "gimmie."

Think about this: were it not for a defense that is playing as well as ANYONE IN THE COUNTRY, we'd be lucky to be in the top-50.

Urban Meyer was crying like some little school boy bitch after he got smacked up and his lunch money took from him...I enjoyed it

I was crying too...missed all of Saturdays games due to a wedding...god bless him for doing it on Tennessee bye week, but watching Florida lose is just as entertaining.

I don't see anything wrong with emotion, but, i don't have to put up with playing for a cry baby coach the rest of the year, now do i?

Good God when are you guys going to quit obsessing about this...I know you have a preoccupation with the Gators but this is ridiculous...

Is it just me or have we gotten to a point where football coaches meltdown more often?

Crying part really didn't bother me. As a UNC bball fan I've seen Roy "cry baby" Williams do it before and he's won more bball games faster than anyone in the NCAA and will be a future hall of famer..doesn't change the fact he's a great coach.

On a side note I must admit I gave some fellow Gators that used to rag me about Williams crying a lil hell about it though. :devilsmoke:
