I haven't been able to get past this thing with Meyer crying and it being reported so widely.
I just can't imagine a HEAD COACH in the SEC crying because he was so emotionally moved by a loss.
Now, if he lost a player in an accident or something, that's a horse of another color.
But crying about a loss?
Now I want our coaches to take the game seriously, but I'd like to think they're going to act like men and take it like a man.
If I were a Florida fan right now, I'd be embarrassed over it. I've noticed they're trying to spin it, saying, "He's really into being a Gator and we like that." But I can't help believe that in their heart, they are embarrased too.
I recall a game I played in once, we lost 20/22 and we were stopped on the goal line on the last play of the game. It was tough. As I entered the dressing room there were a couple of guys with their heads in their hands and they were crying. I understood. To be honest, I was about ready to break down and cry when one of our captains came in, saw what these two guys were doing, and he got down in their faces and he said, "I don't want to see any tears. (Expletive deleted) you girls had a chance to win this game and you laid your candy a$$es down. (He could say this and get by with it. He was a monster. He played nose tackle on defense and he was a real head hunter on every play.) He began to go all over the dressing room telling everybody that if he saw anybody else crying he was going to whup thier butts. But he didn't say butts.
That really made an impact on me. When he got through throwing benches and tables, I made up my mind right then and there that no matter how many losses I played in I'd never shed a tear over one.
I'd like to hear your views on Head Coaches crying in public over a loss.
