is really getting old. Let it go, the man is gone and is moving on to other things.

I'm tired of clicking on every thread and finding some blowhard constantly bashing the man. Its history, he's history. Its not funny anymore, not that it ever was.

I would like to see the Fulmer bashing stop....as soon as all the ridiculous Kiffin bashing ends, and that goes for the Fulmerite fans and KNS writers. Until then, more donut jokes.

What do you expect on a online message forum?? The guy's blood ran orange but he allowed Tennessee football to be mediocre team.

Fulmer had a great run in the 90's, but he stayed too long. He proved that it was more about him than the program by doing that. You can't expect Vol fans to forget that immediately. He will be remembered as a legend, regardless of how many doughnut jokes are floated.

Starting these threads only encourages the bashing.I'm sick of it too but people will continue to do it for a long long time.

A lot of the people in this forum signed up to bash everyone. Fulmer and Kiffin will continue to be bashed. Just like myself and everyone else. They need to try to be positive or keep their opinions to their selves. But, it isn't going to happen.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! GO VOLS!!!!!!!

This thread will only increase the Fulmer bashing...

It does need to stop.. But he wasn't the saint alot of people think he was..

He was great to our program.. But he wasn't the only person who gave our program tradition..
He just continued it and did i a good job for 4 or 5 years...

We all got tired of blowhards with their heads stuck up Fulmer's enormous arse telling us he would get things turned around. Payback is Hell.

Some of the people on here will bash Fulmer until the first time Kiffin loses a game. Then they'll all talk about how great Fulmer was and call for Mike Hamilton's head for replacing him.

If you ever see me praise Fulmer, run to the nearest corner and wait for Armageddon.

I said some of the people here. I've been around here long enough to know that you are consistent with your statements.

I guess you are basing this on something other than his record and National Championship.

Record - Was inflated against inferior competition. Twenty-two percent of all his victories was against two teams - Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Lost 70% of his games against better competition since 2001.

Discipline - 52 arrests of his football players in six years. Kept Otis for a punter after multiple drunk citations. Kept druggies on the team until the university had to kick them off.

Character - Stayed on until the program was so destroyed not one stone stood atop another.

Fulmerites - Does not and will not accept what went on and bashes those that point out he is one of the worst examples of a Tennessee coach to ever walk the sidelines.

I am not even sure what being a Fulmerite consists of in everyone's eyes here on VN, but I do respect PF....the man came up through the ranks working his rear off, got to the head coaching ranks, won a national championship and has posted an outstanding overall record...

However, I was in total agreement that it was time for him to go....there is no doubt that he lost the fire he had in the mid to late 90's... I have criticized the man as much as anyone the past few years for the complacency, lack of player development and whatever else you want to add to the list....however I am in agreement with the original poster that enough is enough, the man has moved on, its time for the new era of Tennessee football to begin and its time for some YAW YAW YAW YAW YAWWWWW FOOTBAW!!! Tell em about it Joe Joe!

Inferior competition? It is the SEC. It has its good and bad teams, just like any other conference in any sport you wish to talk about.

Lost 70% since 2001? His record is his record...if the seats were still filling in Neyland this past season, the man would still be here...IMO.

Discipline...I cannot disagree with you here. I still however don't think he handled to overall program much different than any other coach in a big time conference would. As far as Otis, he wasn't booted due to his name.

Character - the man played for an SEC championship just one year ago. It is rare that any coach will just up and resign. Most have to be fired...and who can blame them with the buy outs? Anyone that says he shouldn't take his $6 million is crazy...I guarantee each and everyone of us would take every dime we were entitled too.

Fulmerites??? One of the worst to walk the TN sidelines?...LOL is all I can do at that. The man won the only National Championship I have ever witnessed at UT.

As far as the program, I know it is not where it was in the 90s. I think we all know that. Was it time for something to change? Yes! I think most of us can agree on that.

I think it is ridiculous to say Fulmer was not much of a coach. The man was one of the elites for several years, he won 100 more games than he lost. He missed a bowl game only twice in 17 years.

I liked Fulmer....but now Lane Kiffin is our coach....and I am excited about the 09 season!

They are still bashing Majors, so why do you think it will stop anytime soon, especially if the baffoon starts showing up on ESPN giving his "expert" opinion.:banghead2:
