Fulmer and Chavis

Have YOU seen #24 (Moreno?) run the ball?

Good lord, he's liable to have 200 yards against UT.

And, UGA throws to the backs out of the backfield a lot.

This game is trouble.
Yeah this game and the rest. Fact is we are still running nickel and dime vanilla garbage. Our defense could quit possible go down as the worst ever at tennessee. Special teams, hah its not worth mentioning.

UT needs to go to the spread offense to beat UGA---their DBs are good but not great, but they have good LBs and a decent D-line.

unfortunately, i don't think even Urban Meyer could teach the spread offense in 13 days

And, our defense is improving. Luckily UGA is not very good on offense. Our DL is starting to play pretty well. Our secondary is actually starting to get good personnel on the field and they are making some plays. Our LB's are killing our defense against the runs. Overpursuing and losing their assignment lanes. Not getting off blocks. They have to get better at that position.

:eek:lol:Arkansas State's starting running back averaged (let me state that again for effect, AVERAGED) over 9 yards per carry against us and you have the audacity to state that our defense is improving?

We'll never figure that out. At this point it would be better to attempt an onsides kick every time.

I would seriously consider kicking it out of bounds every time if I was CPF.

The coverage teams are giving it up on at least the 35 anyway, and most of the time even farther, so why not?

Because teams would just choose to make us re-kick from even farther away. We tried this against Cal. It made the coaches look like idiots.

texas is actually as bad as we are. in their only contest of the season, OU might win by 50
and the sad thing is, TX will still wind up 11-1 or 10-2.

i said it another thread, but teams like TX, Bama, GA etc....have only their schedule to thank for their rankings thus far.

If bama had already played LSU.....or GA already played FL....or TX already played OU.....we'd all be sitting together holding hands wondering WTF?

Fulmer said something derogatory about the Indians and Chavis thought he was talking bout his people....it blew up from there.

If you watched that game and did not come away thinking our DL and Secondary were improved then I will make sure never to read any evaluations from you again. The secondary is going to be much better with the new personnel. Vinson/Willingham is huge upgrade over Parrish/Gaines. Ayers is finally starting to play up to his capabilities. Bolden and Williams are pressuring the QB. Now I did not say our defense had arrived anywhere, that is obvious. But, it is just as obvious that our defense has better personnel on the field and they improved last week. They still need to make a lot of improvement again the next two weeks before UGA.

I say we get the little stroke ridden leprechaun on ESPN to be our head coach. He can spit on the other coach when they shake hands before the game and give him demetia too!

because a smart coach would simply make fulmer rekick

How about just faking every punt and onside kicking it after every score? If we're going to give them the ball at midfield, might as well give yourself a chance to get the ball.

Where is Hal Mumme when you need him?

i'm just afraid if we onside kick it, we'll miss it and some guy will have a straight shot to the endzone. I'm game for going for it on fourth down. I am very conservative on fourth downs typically and I startled myself by being upset that fulmer didn't go for it on that 4 and short play Saturday. I realized I was afraid to punt it.

I was sitting at the 50 yard line, 13th row, right in front of the VOLS bench and I would say beginning of the 4th quarter, about 13 minutes left, Fulmer and Chavis were screaming at each other. Chavis even threw his head set off. Then they had brief words again a minute later.

Dunno what that was all about. Possibly Fulmer getting irked at Ark St running all over the defense?

THEY ARE FIGHTING ON WHO WILL GET THE WINGS OR LEGS AT DINNER THAT NIGHT.

HAPPENS EVERY GAME THEY PLAY!

I'm all for the onside kick. I can see a load of scenarios where we tackle somebody just trying to get to the ball ourselves.

Then we'll have a shot at winning the Time of Posession battle.

rofl. At least we would win something. And the opposing Defense would be so tired by the fourth quarter we could rack up receiving and running yards all over the place. IT'S A GREAT IDEA!!!!!
