This week in the Tennessean Coach Fulmer said that he had changed his mind and now supported the BCS because, in 2003 you ended up with a bunch of people happy out West (USC) and a bunch of people happy in the East (LSU), so that was lots of happy people all over.

IOW, Coach Fulmer thinks the fact that the BCS failed is actually support for the system....

Role models are everything :flush:

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

The BCS has been modified, I believe, every year since its creation.

They do seem to have a genius for finding new ways to take a stupidity and really give it a shine....

Of course, given that ttis is an election year, there's a chance we might get something productive done. With all the NCAA folks off doing duty as expert suppliers of manure to the respective presidential campaigns, we might actually be able to promote some sense in their absence before they notice what's going on...

The BCS is obviously an invention of the federal government.

Some type of conspiracy theory maybe?? ;) :D

The BCS is a joke!

Not to put you on the spot, but it just occurred to me that you're wrong-

The BCS actually isn't a joke-

A joke provides an opportunity for the butt to laugh too if they're self-secure enough.

The BCS may be laughable, but it doesn't qualiy as a joke, since it's all about how much you can get away with screwing people whether they like it or not, and not even the most secure of the people getting screwed see any humor in it.

The BCS's current SOP is, "We've got the money, so we've got the power- what're you going to do about it?"

That's no joke.

A playoff is not going to happen in the near future. Too many objections to overcome. with the Presidents, the bowl system, the NCAA, etc.

That being said - I actually like the BCS. The way I figure it, if we can't have a playoff and crown an undisputed champion, let's have as much turmoil as possible.

The BCS does what Kramer and the commitee intended. It has created a lot of publicity for college football.
