I had no idea that Phil Fulmer was a catcher for the Tennessee baseball team, while playing football also...I hope that this is not a double post, but could not find anything on the topic....This makes him a double VOL!!!!

I thought this was going to be a homosexual joke.:p

Gotcha!!! But it is true....Read the Manning article on the home page about being for the Rockies in the World Series.... And while reading get your mind out of the gutter...:eek:k:

I just could imagine what he said to the pitcher when he popped up and ran out and talked to them.

Any takers on this one?

I'm going to go ahead and get one out of the way:

"Alright man we got one out and a runner on first. Work like heck to keep the ball down where we can get a grounder for the double play."

"bases drunk dude, we need to bear down. C'mon man, I know they've hit several tape measure shots on you today and gone back to back to back in multiple innings, but the wind was blowing out and you weren't loose yet. Let's just keep it conservative and throw that same fastball since your loose, for the rest of the inning. It'll work this time. You mind holdin' my glove while I give it my patented half-hearted clap?"

It's bad enough that he is a Tennessee native, Tennessee offensive lineman, Tennessee coach, now we have to add Tennessee Catcher to that resume....

Kind of a cool story to go along with this. When Coach Fulmer came to Millwood to recruit Gerald, I had the chance to sit and talk with him for a while. He started telling me how he was at Millwood High School about 25 years before recruiting Joe Carter to play Football and Baseball at Wichita State.. It was pretty cool to hear some of the stories that he had..

Many of these coaches have been on the road for so long. I bet there are some really good ones he could tell.

Did you talk to GJ after the game on Sat?

Funny how things work out. Glad he got in the game against Bama and hopefully it's a start to a good career here at UT
