Fulmer’s Clawson search lasted 28 days

After Cut left it took Fulmer 28 days to hire an OC. Was Clawson the first choice?

Tennessee OC searches since 2007
Dan, it really is you isn't it?

It took Fulmer that long because he was having trouble getting financial support for a coordinator. Everyone else was paying 600K plus at that time and UT wanted Fulmer at around 400K.

Hamilton was too tight with money. Really was a major contributing factor for our decline since we couldn’t hire assistants at market value.

Man, people write about anything. The other day I saw an article that said Tennessee fans should be happy they are not in a bowl game.
Some truth to that...I was texting with some wolfpack friends who had gone to the bowl game last night. I said for me personally as a fan I would rather not go to a bowl than go spend the money and emotion on the beatdown they got. I know for the team it helps with practices, swag and payout, etc... but they got embarrassed.
I am just hoping the wait 6 weeks approach for our OC turns out better than the Clawfence.

You could choose to not go personally and still be happy they went. There are no positives to a 5 win season.

Possibly true - a scratch-out win against North East West South Idaho Polytechnic in the Vagisil-100 Bowl might have set unreasonable expectations.

I remember that Trooper Taylor wanted the job. He went to Okla St after being passed over and helped them create an explosive offense.

Never called a play and I'm not sure he ever has at the FBS level. He also caused a split in the UT team trying to get the OC job. There's a reason he is where he is
