Pretty glowing remarks.

So we know Pruitt can recruit. And we know his players respect him.

Now lets hope he can actually manage games and make smart decisions in crunch time aka be the anti-butch jones.

One thing that speaks volumes about Pruitt, in my opinion, is that if you watch him on the sidelines Saban let's him do whatever he wants. He's not interjecting himself, overshadowing him, or anything. I think Saban had a lot of trust in Pruitt. And to me that means something.

I have a friend who played at Hoover while he was there. My friend played offense so he didn’t play directly under him but had plenty of interaction. He said he’s not the greatest public speaker (although I’m sure he’s probably better now) so don’t expect to be amazed or anything with him at the press conference. But he said the guy is super smart, develops good relationships with players, and was thought of as the most knowledgeable x’s and o’s guy on their staff. He said he is a straightforward, no nonsense guy so we shouldn’t have to worry about stupid slogans and cliches. He said that generally all the players liked and respected him.

This is what confuses me. What is it about him that the players like so much. I just can't seem to get a read on it based on his public comments.

We don't need a podium coach

UNlike the times when Kiffy called the wrong play and Saban chewed him up on National TV...:good!:

Our last 2 coaches were better at winning the press conference than actual games. Hopefully he will be different
