Justice Dept might want to take a look into this, lots of violence agaisnt women down there lately. Someone's tax exempt status might be at stake, it's just the state capitol ya know?

I don't think violence against female students is exclusive to FSU.

It's an issue across the country.

I would like to point out that the arm he grabbed had a fist on it that she appeared to be threatening to use. Poor judgement on his part hitting that girl like that. I would have no problem with FSU whichever way they decide to go on this. I don't expect him to play there again though.

That's putting it mildly.

A football player gets into a dispute with a female who clinches her fist, and his first thought is to restrain her instead of walking away.

I think she needs to be charged as well. And he definitely needs to be kicked off the team, but I wouldn't be opposed to him getting a second chance somewhere if he can stay out of trouble.

He was trying to push her out of his way. She had every right to swing at this idiot. Watch the video again. He's trying to push up against her to get to the bar. I would have been pissed too if I was her.

Also judging from the way the bar tender is dressed, why is their qb at male strip club?

Look. People are looking at the two sides. 1. He hit the woman 2. She hit him first.

Both need to be arrested. She took an aggressive stance, and then physically punched him in the face. His reaction was to punch back. Now, I don't think it was right to do what he did by any means but she is just as guilty. In fact, she needs to be arrested too. People are always preaching about gender equality and this is a case where no charges will come against her. They both need to get charged with the same crime.

He can blame Rapeist Winston for this. He's being sacrificed to cover the program's disregard of Winston ' s crimes.

The little details in this situation are what is interesting.

For instance, if she had open hand shoved him away in a defensive move and then he punched her like he did it would have been so much worse, imo. On another note, if she had swung at him like she did and then he leaned in and open hand slapped her this might not have even made the news. Instead he chose to hit her full on like she was a man. The sheer force he put into it is what made it so bad regardless of what she did.

You're joking right? So think.... your daughter gets shoved against a bar, she says "hey wtf" then a grown man grabs her arms shoving her back and she throws the weakest punch(more of a shove honestly) and you think it's ok to full on deck her? Interesting. No way she should be charged. He started the physical altercation and ended it.

I haven't been in a bar or club this decade but is it no longer completely common or expected to be bumped or jostled some while in a crowded bar.

She had a fist made way before he grabbed her arm. Hell, he probably grabbed her arm so she wouldn't hit him. You can't use the whole "if you had a daughter" situation, a grown woman is just as capable to create physical violence and damage as any man. Enough with the gender card. Ask yourself this, if she didn't ball up her fist (which he grabbed) and didn't swing, do you think he would have punched her? It seemed she was ready to throw a punch before he touched her. Should he have grabbed her arm? No. But she responded with a strike and so did he.

Everyone might look at this differently. My take, he's underage to start. Shouldn't be there. He grabs the girls arm's (assault, if you will) and she defends herself by punching him. He retaliates by full punch to the face. So, we'll see what happens.

Wait... are we looking at the same video?

That's not exactly what it appeared to have happened in the video....at least not IMO. Doesnt absolve him from being guilty of punching another person, but you are making it out to look like this chick was totally innocent. My daughter would not have punched anyone in the face, she's been taught to keep her hands to herself.

Dont you know that if someone as much as gently touches you in a crowded bar, you are within your rights to punch that mutha in the face?

She did swing at/hit him. But after he clocks her, he walks away. My question is, why not just walk away before he swung?

My question is, if you are in a bar with a bunch of pushing and shoving (this didn't look anymore more or less typical of any college bar I've been to), is your first reaction to take an offensive stance and bald a fist at someone?

We have two people here, yet we seem to only want to focus on what the man should've/could've done. But what about her responsibility in not escalating the situation?

She did not punch him in the face. She hit him in the shoulder with a blow that could generously be called "glancing".

This girl didn't punch anyone in the face.
