Frustrated but we should not give up on Heupel

Yeah calling for “farring” right now is ridiculous but criticism is not!!! CJH deserves the constructive criticism and HE has a chance to get better, and make staff and team better too, but he’s running out of time! Two more years is legit.

Coaches in their 40’s aren’t changing their philosophies, management, and game behaviors much fwiw….

Personally I checked out on him in September! I’ve seen enough slop already.

Yeah, I'm there too. I watch, but I don't expect much at this point. It will take another 3-4 years of this sloppy football and sloppy management before the true blue ' you gotta s'port the coach' crowd gets the memo, but I'm resigned to 7-8 wins and endless repetitions of 'lots to clean up' after every game.

I do believe it would be lunacy to jump into the coach search this season given the number of vacancies, but I saw all I needed to see last year vs OSU. We were completely outplayed, outcoached, out hustled, and out managed. And Heupel really didn't seem embarrassed by it. He seems ok with "it's not gonna be perfect" as his mantra. You can't expect his players to demand anything more than the coach.

Yeah people need to pipe down. I think the whole dark mode BS made the loss worse. Get rid of that gimmick trash and just play ball.
So if we wear pink uniforms and win against Florida at home should we wear them every game? Uniforms don’t affect outcome. Let the university bring in as much money as possible. More money only equates to better recruits.

So, you never played offensive line I gather? Say for example you are the left guard and you know that the center is pulling to his left on the play called. You have a defensive tackle in front of you and the defense brings a linebacker up over center. You, as the left guard, now have two people to block, so if you don't think that you are going to be quick on the count, your nuts. The left guard was not COACHED to jump offsides but, in the interest of saving his QB and running backs from a sack and loss of yards, he might, just might try to beat the snap by a split second. Heck, you see this on almost every play in the NFL nowadays where the tackles move backwards at or slightly ahead of the snap to thwart off defensive ends with lightning speed.

Good coaches, and there are a handful of them, anticipate what the D is going to do and therefore allows the O players to play within themselves.

More people on VN are coming to accept the fact that the offensive play calling is really hurting us. Just sayin'
I played college football so I’m your huckleberry. You’re forgetting the reality of the situation. You’re using secular analogies which is nothing but a bad faith argument. You could have the best coach in the world but even Bear Bryant had players commit penalties, lose games, and make mistakes. The human element happens and sometimes you are on the right side of things, and sometimes you are on the wrong side of things. That’s all there is to it.

I am angry amd sympathize. This season has been a disaster outside of Aguilar. I am still not ready to give up on the coaching staff. They definitely need to make adjustments for 2026 but let's see what they do first. Recruiting is going very well.
Agree for the most part. I was in school and at Stokely the night the band played "When Johnny Comes Marching Home." We hold Coach Majors up as one of our greatest. He started at another program low point and built a monster but it took his 16 years and more before we won the championship. In his 16 seasons we only won 10 or more twice, and the SEC was nothing like today. No doubt we have a ways to go. Everyone knows that but it is nice to at least be in the conversation again.
